You're feeling overwhelmed by a micromanaging boss. How can you prioritize self-care practices?
One way to deal with micromanagers is to become or supercharge proactive efforts. Such (proactive) behavior will tend to balance the workplace and allow the employee to gain some control, alleviating stress, anxiety levels finding the time to start practicing self-care.

A Saturday edition of Laowai.... Solving hard problems. DIU 3.0 "While much has been written on the innovation valley of death across the US government, or the inability to access detailed problem sets in classified environments, or the bloated defense budgets and bureaucracy, little has been written on product-market fit which is key for speed and scale. Maybe DIU 3.0 aims to address this. Technology companies have been doing this for decades. The free market allows this to flourish. If there is no fit, there is no revenue. $2.8 billion Small Business Investment Fund supported by the DoD and SBA: These two entities are working with the Small Business Investment Company Critical Technology Initiative (SBICCT), a $2.8 billion fund, which enables investors to finance small businesses creating technologies considered critical to national security. These technologies are microelectronics, space technology, software, AI and more. The original Small Business Investment Company Initiative, founded in 1958, has backed companies such as Apple, Intel, and Fairchild Semiconductor. Each investment fund that works with the initiative can borrow up to $175 million and postpone loan payments until the company becomes profitable. This is a great use of taxpayer funds because it promotes national security and competitiveness, and this program has a strong track record of investors repaying all of the loans. #SmallBusiness #SBIC #SBICCT #Investments #NationalSecurity #SBA #DoD

Venezuelan military buildup near Essequibo seen as Maduro's strategy to retain power - As the Venezuelan elections get closer, and the government sees a competitive opposition ahead in the polls, a new report ponders about the possibility that president Nicolás Maduro will "manufacture" an escalation with neighbor Guyana to secure his grip on power. - "De-escalation could even disqualify Maduro's presidential bid, as Venezuela's Essequibo defense law (passed by the Chavista-controlled National Assembly) bars anyone who denies Venezuelan sovereignty over the Essequibo from running for public office," the report notes. - The military could even act without Maduro's approval. should he end up in a position where he is "compelled to act in order to maintain the support of the armed forces domestically, or else the military (or elements of it) will act without approval from Caracas." - Considering these scenarios, the report calls for the international community to remain vigilant. "The potential for miscalculation is highest if VENEZUELA, GUYANA - FLASHPOINT & ELECTIONS - Venezuela feels it will not face substantial consequences for continuing to pursue a compellence strategy," and key regional players are called to "signal publicly and in private that they are watching Venezuela at every turn." https://lnkd.in/ejqtB2eP

The EDA Recompete Pilot Program is arguably one of the most ground breaking and important funding opportunities ever released in the U.S. The Greater Memphis Chamber Foundation phase 2 Recompete proposal, in partnership with Seeding Success, CodeCrew , @Next Memphis, Tech901 , @the Collective Blueprint and Start Co. Co, is focused on 91 persistent poverty census tracts where PAEG rates for African Americans are severe . Our proposal focuses on the power of place and builds bridges between employers and neighborhoods. The communities within the qualifying census tracts were once thriving African American neighborhoods, impacted first by the loss of 10,000 direct and indirect jobs from the closing of the Firestone plant in 1983 and the International Harvester plant in 1985. Over the years, disinvestment has left the eligible census tracts with nine brownfields, 32 opportunity zones, and housing vacancy rates of nearly twenty percent. With strategic public private partnerships and investments we can and will forge a new path for Memphians !
