How can you stay resilient when working on a challenging content marketing project?
Walk away. Work for a bit, and then walk away. Do something that doesn’t take much thought, is physically consuming and needs to be done - like ironing, cleaning, raking, mowing, etc. Let the project circulate through your mind while your body is busy and your need to accomplish something is being satisfied. Your mind will be freer to think through your approach and the solutions you’ll apply.

What are the key steps to creating a content calendar?
Be realistic about the schedule you commit to. At first, you may be tempted to post daily or multiple times a day and after a week find yourself running out of content or the time or motivation to create it. Think about your schedule in terms of deliverables for a full year: - Daily = 365 posts (or ~260 for weekdays only) - Every other day = ~130 posts - Weekly = 52 posts - Monthly = 12 posts Determine what you can commit to by sitting down and developing all of your content for a month - without posting it. How long does it take you to create the posts? Did you have enough content... enough motivation? Use the process to set yourself up for success for a full year of a well-executed plan.

How can you promote equity in hiring and promotion decisions?
Take a good look at who is involved in hiring and promotion decisions. The more diverse these groups are, the more likely you'll be to ask more of the right questions - not just of the hire/employee, but of your own process and bias. HIRING - Assemble teams that include members from across the organization at various levels. Ask them to define the ideal candidate and develop questions to help find those attributes in interviewees. PROMOTIONS - Welcome feedback from the employee's peer group. Ask them what roles and responsibilities best fit their peer's skills and what their peer should improve upon to advance their career. Don't expect these team members to have the answers - expect their input to influence how you make decisions.

How can you avoid micromanaging your team?
Focus your expectations on the outcomes - and let your team members determine how they will drive to those outcomes. - Tell them *what* you want to accomplish, not *how* to accomplish it - Allow them to be creative. They probably won't do it the way you would have. That's okay - that's what makes teams dynamic and benefit from synergy. - Leave room for mistakes. As the manager, you are responsible for the final deliverable and for meeting the deadline. Give your team enough time to make mistakes, even if that means you have to come in and fix them at the end. They'll learn how *not* to do it next time. - Trust. Trust that your team can do the work. Trust that they can learn and grow more valuable over time.
