I have competed and partnered with Oracle my entire career - mostly in the enterprise - and would like to think I've been fairly successful in both. This is 100% the right strategy for Oracle and the industry. Its strange to think of Oracle as the David vs the Goliath of Epic (in the US Hospital market). However, they still had two massive advantages. 1. They have great technologists. 2. The have the capital to build from the ground up. This leverages both. Its like the original Oracle Fusion initiative, except in a market where the competitor is content to keep building on their own 30 year old core. Kaiser Permanente is leveraging #GenAI to enhance the human aspect of healthcare... 👩‍⚕️ Sounds strange, but that's actually the case 🤷‍♂️ Their GenAI scribe technology is basically reducing administrative burdens for clinicians by generating clinical notes from patient encounters, allowing doctors to spend more time interacting with patients! Daniel Yang, MD VP of AI at Kaiser Permanente explained this at VentureBeat Transform. In this case the aim is combat clinician burnout (which is a serious problem everywhere in the world) and improve patient-doctor communication, and at the same time improve the delivery of quality care ❤️ ▶ Patients benefit from more direct and meaningful interactions with their healthcare providers, as doctors can spend more time communicating rather than typing notes. ▶ This helps decrease disparities in healthcare, ensuring that all community members receive high-quality care. McKesson reported its quarterly results yesterday (Aug 7th). The stock is down in pre-market by more than 7%. ProntoNLP's #GenerativeAI platform analyzed the transcript and found it very negative. The overall LLM score was significantly down from 0.81 to 0.63 and is at a local minimum for the past 5 quarters. 13 of the LLM categories are down compared with the last quarter while 8 LLM categories are up. The Forecast category is much lower than previous quarter (from 0.82 to 0.44) and is at a local minimum for the past 2 years. For the following LLM categories there were many negative comments with HIGH LLM importance: Financial Performance and Forecast. McKesson's exeutives were positive and specifically the CEO Brian Tyler(150 positive remarks vs. just 14 negative remarks), and less so the CFO Britt Vitalone (174 positive comments vs. just 43 negative comments) were positive. The analysts were very positive as well with 10 positive comments and 2 negative comments. ProntoNLP's new LLM Aspects based signal shows a dramatic decline from 0.501 in the last quarter to 0.276 for this quarter. This is an extremely bearish signal. No way that happened You are telling me I can get faked out by a AI deep fake on Zoom! when hiring a VA? I recently had the honor of speaking at the NABIP Medicare Summit, where I shared my perspective on the evolving landscape of cyber threats facing independent insurance agencies. During my presentation, I stated that I believe insider threats will constitute 70% or more of the attacks on these agencies in 2024 and beyond. When I mentioned that nation states are employing bad actors as freelancers and employees, using sophisticated tools like AI and deepfakes, the reactions in the room were mixed—some rolled their eyes, others scoffed, and a few nodded in agreement, recognizing the gravity of the situation. Earlier this year, after decades of opposition, President Biden enacted a law in the US that finally takes on Big Pharma and gives Medicare the power to negotiate drug prices. I realized how deep-rooted and global this issue is only now, after experiencing it firsthand. A family member was admitted to one of the leading hospitals, which claims "the sole mission to deliver world-class, holistic, and affordable healthcare." We were advised to get an IV injection costing around INR 50k per day. However, after some inquiries, we found a vendor just opposite the hospital offering the same injection for INR 4.8k. This was not a different brand; it was identical, even down to the batch number. The system is so twisted that I’m not sure if the hospital was intentionally overcharging or if they are also victims of this broken system. The only giveaway was how persistent the hospital pharmacy executive was in pushing us to buy from them worth INR500k of IV injections. I just can't wrap my head around this. It's an obnoxious leakage, and no amount of healthcare subsidy or insurance can really fill it. Who is responsible? Is it the Big pharma or the hospitals or the government for not being able to regulate it? #NPPA #GuficBiosciencesLtd

Two years post-acquisition, Oracle's $28 billion investment in Cerner has yet to deliver the promised revolution in health care technology. Despite initial high hopes of transforming the industry and boosting Oracle’s earnings, challenges have surfaced. Interviews and internal documents reveal a loss of major Cerner clients and a focus on upgrading old systems rather than innovating. Oracle Health, which includes Cerner, is projected to see declining sales this fiscal year, and a vital federal contract is in limbo. Employee cuts and substantial debt have further complicated the integration, contrasting sharply with Oracle's aims to dominate next-generation health care. Meanwhile, competitors like Epic continue to gain ground, underscoring Oracle's difficulties in making significant headway in the health care sector. (my second favorite cognitive bias) 💡 The Dunning-Kruger Effect is a bias that occurs when individuals overestimate their own abilities or knowledge in a specific area, often because they lack the metacognitive skills to accurately assess their own competence. (... thought you'd never ask) 🔨 The Ikea Effect is a cognitive bias in which humans place a disproportionately high value on products they partially created.
