Key highlights from #SAPQ22024 earnings: - Cloud growth remains robust in Q2, fueled by Business AI driving numerous deals. - Current cloud backlog stands at €14.8 billion, marking a 28% increase in nominal and constant currencies. - Cloud revenue surged by 25%, supported by a remarkable 33% growth in Cloud ERP Suite revenue, in both nominal and constant currencies. - Total revenue saw a 10% increase, both in nominal and constant currencies. - Reiteration of the 2024 financial outlook, with an enhanced 2025 operating profit goal to capture anticipated efficiency gains from an expanded transformation program. SAP announced several partnerships with technology leaders, including Joule integration with Microsoft Copilot for a unified work experience and Google Cloud’s Gemini models AI assistant. Other key SAP AI partnerships include the Cortex Framework for supply chain risk mitigation, SAP Analytics Cloud with Meta Llama 3, NVIDIA cross-product partnerships, and SAP generative AI hub with AWS Bedrock. This week in ☁ Data Center and Cloud ☁ 1️⃣ Microsoft says cloud AI demand is exceeding supply even after 79% surge in capital spending from a year earlier to $14 billion in the latest quarter. 2️⃣ SAP reports strong cloud revenue propelling it in Q1, as well as a report on maximizing SAP S/4HANA Cloud Migration Value with NTT DATA Business Solutions’ Zero Cost Move. 3️⃣ Amazon Q announces general availability, a GenAI-powered assistant for accelerating SW development and leveraging companies’ internal data. 4️⃣ Amazon's cloud and advertising businesses boosted its bottom line, helping the e-commerce giant's first-quarter earnings exceed analysts' forecasts. This is the time when the most deals are sealed, and an all-out effort is invested to set yet another record-breaking year. The motivation during this period triggers the exploration of new strategies and sales approaches. In recent years, the marketing-heavy trend of social selling has gained significant traction, with new formats and channels emerging at every turn. However, it's become evident that while these methods resonate within the ecosystem, they often leave customers feeling somewhat cold. In some cases, they even perceive these formats as formulaic and detached from their individual situations. In this dynamic landscape, it's worth noting that the tried-and true-practices that have historically led to successful SAP subscription, license, and service sales are making a comeback. They should be your guiding light if you're a seller or preseller in the SAP ecosystem aiming to close this year and Q4 with a winning streak: 🌎 SAP Ecosystem in general - Solve Real Customer Problems, Avoid Hype: SAP and its ecosystem sometimes conflates customer problems with higher purposes.
