    The West Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board is made up of five citizens; four are appointed on a by-partisan basis by the Mayor for a four-year overlapping term. The fifth member is appointed by the School Board. The attorney is appointed by the legal department of the city. The Park Board is responsible for all staff personnel matters, except the Superintendent, who is appointed by the Mayor.

    Founded in 1996, Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, takes a hard-nosed look at the strategies proven to reduce crime. Our members, armed with research, make cases for solutions that cut crime and put kids on the path to productive lives. Our membership is comprised of more than 5,000 police chiefs, sheriffs, prosecutors, other law enforcement executives, and violence survivors across all 50 states.

Chief Flannelly has shared the success that community-based alternatives to juvenile incarceration have had locally in direct meetings with his Congressman, multiple trips to Washington, DC to testify before Congressional roundtables and hearings, and through…
