Traditional computer labs, while valuable, often present significant challenges for teachers, especially in government schools. The need for constant maintenance, reliable electricity, and even teacher expertise in technology can create barriers to regular use. Recognizing these challenges, the Ministry of Education's revised ICT initiative aims to enhance digital learning by replacing complex hardware with portable tablets and Chromebooks. This shift promises to make ICT labs more accessible, user-friendly, and less reliant on infrastructure limitations. One particularly exciting innovation within this revised initiative is the tablet/Chromebook-based ICT lab. These labs come equipped with charging racks and offer the flexibility to be customized based on the specific needs of each educational program. By eliminating the dependency on traditional computer setups, this solution not only simplifies lab management for teachers but also aligns with the natural psychology of teachers and students using smartphones at their homes.
