After some time way, maybe too much, do possibly to my travel, I have started back on my Substack with the following artice: 2024 #17: Skills of the Future - The Role of EI in AI Last week, I sat in the SHRM 2024 conference in a session on emotional intelligence and apparently it has resonated with me. Historically, I have spoken about the roadblock that is culture and/or people with regards to data and analytics, or maybe referring it to data literacy, whichever area. The reality is, people can make or break your data, analytics, and AI strategy. With AI moving so rapidly, we need to ensure we are helping people with their fears, with reskilling and/or upskilling, and helping our organization succeed. Too much focus on a tool and you may miss out on what would have helped you most: the people. You can buy tools, those don't necessarily differentiate you, but having a workforce that can utilize them well, that is a good thing. At AgileOne, I am brought in to speak to companies about AI in talent management. AI can help with MSP, RPO, direct sourcing, and SOW, but AI alone may not be the solution. Brian Clark and I speak about the human element. We need to ensure the human is involved, but if we don't have good EI can we manage and help the human element as sufficiently as we can?
