While I sadly will be missing Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity this year as I wait for the arrival of our second child (she’s due any day now!) I’m excited to share several big updates my team has been cooking up over the past few months at Pinterest. Today, we’re announcing: 📌 Pinterest Ad Labs: a new program for select brands to test early versions of Gen AI and creative tools for advertisers. One of the most exciting updates is collages for advertisers, where brands can remix and promote their visual assets as engaging shoppable content. 📌 Pinterest Performance+: Currently in closed beta, we’re testing our latest AI and automation features to help increase ad performance, while making it easier and quicker for marketers to create campaigns. 📌 Brand safety measurement from IAS & DoubleVerify: Both measurement providers confirmed what we already knew to be true – Pinterest is brand safe by default, with more than 99% of measured ad impressions deemed safe by both providers. #womenwednesday The “She’s not Strategic Syndrome” Early in my career, I used to interview a lot of product marketing candidates and I’d always get the operational interview role. My male counterpart would get analysis. Women are shouldering too much at work and often overlooked for their strategic abilities and contributions. I see over and over again examples where a male leader got to do the “strategic” work while a very hard working female report is shouldering all the work preventing her from having the space to be in the clouds. What can we do about it? 💡Uplevel presentations and executive meetings 📈 Make your contributions know 🦹‍♀️Don’t let it define you, calling someone not strategic is a throw away statement. Headcount. Resources. Talent. We've all heard dehumanizing terms used to describe ourselves and the people we work with each and every day. It's easy to get caught up in the swift current of our roles and be swept along by sterile, lifeless jargon. Even worse, we can subconsciously begin to believe those terms: We're just a "resource". This false belief can even begin to fuel anxiety around rumored layoffs, proving our worth, and performing at 110% each and every day. Don't fall into that trap. Each interaction you have in your daily work is with fellow human beings, with their own fears, hopes, dreams and passions. Take a breath, be present, and really see people on your team as worthy of respect and dignity. On your next call, ask how they're doing or what their favorite flavor of ice cream is. Ask a teammate if you can help make their life easier. And, in harder moments, be vulnerable and admit when you make mistakes. Invest in the humanity around you, and whatever you do: don't ever believe the lie that you're of no value.

What's the *magic* number for hiring your first full-time internal communications role? 250 employees? 500 employees? 1000 employees? We're hiring ours at 60. ...is that TOO early?
