    In my graduate degree program I spent countless hours researching, observing, and constructing the framework needed to be functional and ultimately successful in teaching adults. This program has served as a natural evolution to my undergraduate background in psychology as there is an entirely new set of mental, motivational, and experiential processes at work when educating adults. In addition to the psychology behind why and how adults might find themselves in an educational environment, my own face time in the classroom has given me the skills necessary to design and create lessons to reach these adults and the various assessment opportunities available to ensure their retention of knowledge. Holding with the individuality each person possesses, this program has given me valuable insight into individual and unique learning styles and the application of differentiated instruction to meet the needs of this specific yet variable demographic. Most significantly, these many months of metacognition and the application of newly acquired techniques has heightened my own propensity to be a part of the development and enhancement of others who like myself, recognize the importance of higher education in a dynamic and competitive world.
