It is important to have a nationwide policy on the implementation of an electronic health record (EHR) system in Pakistan. Similar to many other countries, this policy would enhance patient care by streamlining the flow of patients and enabling the use of patient data for data-driven strategies. Implementing such a system would lead to improved healthcare outcomes and more efficient resource management.

In 2020, I joined a committee led by the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, representing the Game Development and Animation verticals at policy levels. The committee comprised members from UNDP Pakistan, UNICEF Pakistan, World Health Organization, and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent. Meanwhile, Code for Pakistan was collaborating with Digital Pakistan to develop tools for COVID reporting. In an era rife with misinformation, reaching out to children became our key strategy—they could influence household opinions through grassroots education. Given the time constraints, developing games was impractical, so we leveraged another powerful medium: Animation. Despite being misunderstood for a long time, animation has proven to be one of Pakistan's most critically acclaimed industries and an exceptional tool for soft diplomacy. We reached out to 3rd World Studios, Wakhra Studios, and Unicorn Black, who produced remarkable bite-sized content. This initiative sparked organic content creation across other studios as well. One standout piece was created by my friends and former colleagues at 3rd World Studios —it was an instant hit! This not only showcased our industry’s capabilities but also promoted our intellectual property. It was the exact comms punch we needed to communicate something critical to children (and adults alike). When we started IGDA Pakistan in 2018, we faced numerous challenges at the policy level to highlight the significance and talent within the Games and Animation industries. Endless hours spent advocating in government offices were made worthwhile by the support of visionary leaders like Beenisch Tahir and Ilena Paltzer from UNDP Pakistan's innovation team, with the backing of then-country director Ignacio Artaza; Fasieh Mehta (then at NIC ), and Yusuf Hussain, Faysal Malik, and Muhammad Ali Iqbal, who provided institutional support from #Ignite - and of course an amazing level of support and mentorship from the one and only Jen MacLean. Also a meeting from GameDev's Indiana Jones, Kate Edwards really brought into perspective the soft-power of games and animation and what they can do for a national eco-system and global perception. That is another story. Thanks to their belief and efforts, our industry’s COVID response was possible. Today, Games and Animation in Pakistan are recognized as powerful tools for social change and soft diplomacy at the policy level. Everything shown isn’t ready for implementation at scale today however displaying their thinking, vision and therefore capability display was a great sign. airtel or Jio in #India or Rogers Communications TELUS Bell in #Canada similarly other telecom’s in other parts of the world will be equally capable and equally visionary - it is good to showcase and help build future, an ecosystem of business of future which will be #robotics #ai #ux #governance #security #health and others.

Acquisitions in highly-regulated industries are never easy - Kudos to both sets of teams, Endeavor Pakistan Board members and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for getting this deal across the line.🏆 When taking on the responsibility to build Endeavor Pakistan - I could never have imagined that we would be able to leave a lasting impact on the startup ecosystem in such a short time. Early-stage ecosystems need exits to validate the opportunity and enable continued capital in-flows. I'm super proud that we were able to play our part in driving the first venture-backed exit in Pakistan.🚀🚀 Endeavor Pakistan was borne out of a sense of duty to give back and an unwavering passion to help inspiring founders scale transformative businesses. There was a strong belief in the Endeavor model and the power of its network to ignite the immense/unrealized potential of the country. Over the last few days, I have read many different (negative) opinions about the suggested valuation and speculation around deal terms or other perceived issues. The reality is far removed from speculation and most of the details will continue to remain private - as is the nature of private equity transactions.
