Contextual Retrieval from Anthropic increases RAG retrieval accuracy. Combining that with re-ranking will improve retrieval accuracy significantly. Contextual Retrieval uses Contextual Embeddings and Contextual BM25. Contextual Embeddings add contextual information and Contextual BM25 uses lexical matching. In essence it performs a hybrid search that combines semantic search and lexical search to provide comprehensive search results. Hierarchical Indices using RAG patterns like RAPTOR are a great way of not only searching for the most relevant content for large language models, but also easing context awareness by simplifying retrieval of context. Very much this. My Strong Opinion, is that the near-future "10x developer" is not an exceptional code-slinger, but one that can navigate the cultural complexity of an organization and, with the aid of their technical expertise, bring about an outcome. Persuasion, Communication, and Empathy are becoming the new engineering super-skills.

Like what I have seen from Snowflake at the Summit this week. Some we are already leveraging but lots of new features to dive deeper in near future. Serverless SLM fine-tuning, semantic search, converging batch and real-time architectures, Document LLM. The way everything is getting integrated into a simple workflow is very attractive.
