If you’re like 99% of studio owners… You’re pricing is probably wrong. And it’s probably costing you $100k+/year. Almost every industry in the world  Relies on pricing consultants  (Except boutique fitness) This is where enormous problems start. Because your pricing is not based on data. And it’s not based on your individual situation. It’s arbitrary. Most studio owners price in a variety of ways…   → They guess their competitors pricing.  → They use other studios pricing modelS they like.  → They price what they “think” their clients will pay. All these numbers will vary wildly. So here’s some things to consider. PRICING AUDIT: → Have a boutique fitness consultant review your pricing.  → Most studios are underpricing their services. → Which leads to lost revenue. TIERED PRICING: → Introduce pricing tiers.  → That cater to different customer segments. → Offering premium services at higher prices.  → For those who want exclusivity. ANALYZE COMEPTITOR PRICING: → Benchmark against your competitors.  → But avoid the race to the bottom.  → Your pricing should reflect the value of your services. DYNAMIC PRICING BASED ON DEMAND: → Use dynamic pricing models  → For peak hours or exclusive classes → Similar to airline or hotel pricing strategies. TEST PRICING STRUCTURES: → A/B test new pricing packages or bundles  → To see what works best in your local market. I can’t emphasize the importance of pricing enough. Here's a playbook we're running to generate leads for a hemp based company that focuses on B2B: 1) Google ads for high intent keywords to capture existing demand. This is usually the quickest path to leads. We use Google Search Console + AlsoAsked to build a bank of keywords. We use a clean domain to build a landing page that's devoid of much specific language, avoids using trigger keywords etc. We setup conversion tracking using GTM & GA4; and then setup a webhook in their CRM to ensure tracked correctly at the contact level Once we start to see which keywords are bringing the clicks/conversions; we'll invest more time into building out custom landing pages for those keywords to more closely align with search intent. We also setup a few retargeting campaigns 2) We used Google and a 3rd party data provider (that uses SIC codes) to identify & build a targeted account list For a more niche business (with nuance b/t states & their regulatory components) doing some of this manually is really only way Once we have the target companies; we use Apollo.io to enrich the data. From there we will be doing a few things: - Outbound email campaigns to share helpful content; we'll run this through Instantly.ai - Adding accounts into LinkedIn to build lookalike audiences & run a few campaigns to distribute content & share some brand awareness ads + sprinkle in a few silly meme ads for attention. This will be a small budget of $1-2K per month given the small TAM - Setting up 2 direct mail campaign tests. 1 will be a letter style mailing & the other will be a postcard. Both will have diff offers; with some tangible / no-cost value prop to the target account - Working w/ internal sales team to tee up cold calls using enriched data; CTA will be checking on the mailer & offering free value adds 3) Setup new website visitor ID from Instantly.ai on their main URL; and then will be building a funnel of ID > outbound using their tool to ideally send more targeted / personalized outreach based on intent. A $50M DTC brand just imploded!! 🧨🔥 Here's why: Many DTC brands are imploding because they pushed for scale before they were ready. The more they grew their revenue, the higher the losses. This means they didn't understand their LTV:CAC ratio If you try to scale before your 12-month LTV:CAC ratio is positive, you will dig a hole, and the faster you try to grow, the deeper the hole. The only exception for considering a longer than 12-month lifetime is being VC-backed. BTW, in DTC businesses, we use lifetime gross profit instead of lifetime net revenue. That would be 12mo customer revenue minus cogs and shipping. BTW #2, you can get the lifetime net revenue data for free using the cohort analysis report on Shopify.

If this metric is lagging in your studio... It can have major ripple effects. What’s the metric? >>Conversion Rate<< Studios often think they have a “marketing problem.” In reality...they have a “conversion problem.” Here’s what I mean… Conversion Rate Impact: → Imagine increasing CR from 15% to 40% → For every (100) intro packs sold → That's (40) new members  → Instead of (15) new members Cost Per Acquisition: → With a higher CR… → Your investment per new members plummets. → Instead of casting a wide net for minimal returns... → You're strategically investing in targeted conversions. → Making your marketing dollars are MORE effective. → (Bringing in more members for less) The Revenue Reality: → This is where the difference is felt → With an average monthly membership of $150 → At a conversion rate of 15% → You’re making $2,250/month With a conversion rate of 40%? a lot of agencies stall at $1m-$2m in annual revenue. here's why. first, many many agencies start as just 1 person who is really good at the thing that they do. that could be building product, design, marketing, etc. they're so good that demand starts to outstrip their supply, aka their time. when that happens, they have two paths: 1. double / triple their prices or 2. build a team and teach them to do the thing that they do well. there are a few dynamics to consider here. - the person choosing path 1 will make a lot more money take home than the person choosing path 2 for years. probably until the person achieves 4x-5x in revenue scale. that's because path 2 is lower margin. you have to build out the team that does the thing. then you have to build out the ops and overhead that stitches it all together. this can be very discouraging, and it's often much easier to stop building the team and just go back to doing the thing yourself and raising prices on your time. - doing the thing is a vastly different skillset and job than building the team that does the thing. people who are really good at doing the thing, often really like doing the thing. what they don't like is incorporating a biz, building a back office, chasing down invoices, doing 1:1s, hiring, etc etc etc. a lot of people find that building an agency isn't fun and what they learn is that they'd rather do the thing that they like to do. some of these folks take the contractor-subcontractor approach where they then actively do the work and subcontract out some of the boring bits. this can work out very well and ultimately results in a setup akin to the solo contractor approach where you have high margins but your topline is capped by your time. - scaling the biz means developing a repeatable sales & marketing motion. this is where, particularly, e.g., product, design or eng agencies, get stuck because the whole basis for starting an agency came from a surplus of word of mouth biz. ie they got the biz by doing the thing well, and they don't have the skillset for scaling demand beyond that. the way i think about it is that this agency exists because it does great work. word of mouth is a proprietary channel for this agency. how do you scale complimentary proprietary, owned channels based on this agency's 'secret'. i believe that the 'mistake' that folks take when they try to scale is by going after nonproprietary channels, which turns their agency into a commodity biz. sales cycles are longer and more competitive for customers that you have to introduce yourself to. you become a hubspot agency partner and you compete just as 1 of N agencies. ultimately, what's important isn't scaling an agency beyond $X milestone, it's about building the biz you want, doing the work you want, supporting your family and all that good stuff. however, breaking out of this range makes cracking $10M+ in annual revenue a real possibility if that's what you want.

Healthcare is a human to human experience and benefits from relationships with physicians who know their patients . This has become very clear to me after 25 years in the pediatric emergency department, where in the last decade, the simple question of "who is your child's pediatrician" is answered with ➡ Name of Practice ⬅ . I would follow with "And who is your child's physician?" This was usually followed by a shrug of the shoulders. People want to be listened to, they want to be heard, and they want to be "cared" for. When you're scaling a DTC brand from $5m to $30m, don't try to optimize for lowest cost of capital when you raise debt financing... The lenders out there who can offer the lowest cost of capital usually can't offer the capital flexibility and deal terms that you need as you scale. Low cost of capital lenders don't love DTC. It scares them because there is little to no A/R and inventory is a riskier collateral base. As such, they'll either offer you way too little capital availability or their offer will come with hefty protective provisions that feel punitive. Non-bank lenders tend to be the best fit for a DTC-heavy brand that is scaling profitability beyond $5m in annual sales. Traditional bank lenders, which offer lower cost of capital, tend to become a better option after you hit $30m+ in annual sales. Obviously, there are always exceptions to this rule, but the advice I'm offering here turns out to be true most of the time in my experience. __ Want more tips like this?
