The most impactful leadership coaches use a broad and varied toolkit to help their clients thrive. For the annual Industrial-Organizational Psychology conference, I teamed up with a group of leadership practitioners to explore some of our most-utilized coaching techniques — using stories to illustrate their impact and bring them to the life for the audience. From 360 feedback to future-focused development planning, self-imagery, effective presence, and coachability, our panel covered a lot of ground! What did we explore? 1. Elna Moore Hall, Ph.D. described the value of using visualization to help leaders prepare for key moments and rehearse for situations where high performance is necessary. 2. Lacey Savage spoke to the importance of understanding yourself as a coach, and using exploratory questions to understand a leader's current state and level of awareness of their impact. 3. Dale Rose, Ph.D. described the value of 360 Feedback for helping leaders understand their reputation, accept input, and drive accountability for behavior change. 4. Jake Weiss, Ph.D. highlighted the importance of coachability; a coachee's curiosity, humility, and desire to receive and act on feedback play a key role in the success of a coaching engagement. 5. I spoke to the value of bringing future-focused development planning into the coaching process. Clarifying coaching goals and objectives, and importantly, aligning those with a coachee's manager and HR partner, provide a foundation for a successful partnership between a coach and leader. Amanda (Mandy) Bell, Ph.D. facilitated the conversation, shared her own coaching insights, and brought in the numerous questions submitted by the audience! Sean Stormes - Founder and CEO, The Demand Creation Institute
As The Demand Creation Institute grows its stable of national Certified Advisors (and senior leadership team), research uncovered that some professional training and consulting firms have * thousands * of coaches standing at the ready. (stay with me on this one ... ) Then, on a similar note, we recently read that while many military armies across the globe struggle to locate enough recruits to meet their respective quotas, Sweden accepts less than 10% of applications, turning away those who do not meet their stringent requirements. In other words, Sweden only wants ... "The Best of the Best." We're approaching our Certified Advisor applicants in a similar fashion. We'd rather emulate Sweden than expose our distinguished clients to mediocrity. Think "Jedi." Know an executive coach who desires a proven, proprietary system to fortify their practice, allowing them the type of top tier income and freedom they've only dreamed about ... and crave an extraordinary sense of purpose within their work? Please send them our way. We'd be grateful, as would the U.S. business community. Leadership coaching is no longer a luxury — it’s a strategic necessity. Did you know that 86% of companies report an ROI on leadership coaching that far surpasses the initial investment? Companies across industries are seeing the direct link between impactful leadership and sustainable growth, and they're making moves. As Florida's #1 Transformational Leadership Coach, I work 1:1 with senior leaders and their teams to elevate self-leadership, strengthen team dynamics, and foster a culture of trust, which includes leading with clarity, confidence, and compassion. It’s an approach that goes way beyond “checking the box” of professional development — it’s a personalized journey designed to create lasting change AND results (inside and outside your organization). I’ll be candid: my coaching isn’t cheap, AND....it’s also not for everyone. My coaching is for those who are ready to create powerful shifts within themselves and their teams, where the value far outweighs the investment. If your organization is looking to stay ahead in today’s rapidly evolving professional landscape, let’s talk about the next-level leadership that’s possible. The journey to stronger, more resilient teams starts with self-leadership at the top. Ready to redefine what’s possible? Let's have the conversation. #LeadershipCoaching #TeamDynamics #ProfessionalDevelopment #SelfLeadership

Ever wondered how to transition into a C-level executive role?? For so many talented leaders, getting to that next level isn’t just about more hard work; it’s about strategy, positioning, and timing. Here are some critical steps to transition into an executive role: 1️⃣ Build a Strategic Network Connect with other executives and influencers in your industry. They often know about openings before they're posted. 2️⃣ Strengthen Your Personal Brand Make sure your LinkedIn profile and resume scream “executive material.” Highlight achievements that showcase vision and leadership. 3️⃣ Gain Cross-Functional Experience The best C-level leaders understand various facets of a business, so seek out roles or projects that broaden your perspective. Moving into the C-suite is a journey that requires planning and finesse, but the rewards are worth it. 🌟 Does it helped? #CareerAdvice #ExecutiveCoaching #LeadershipDevelopment #CLevelRoles #CareerGrowth

This could be me getting annoyed about yet another "(insert adjective here) Leadership" article I'm reading. So which one is best? Is it Servant Leadership? Humble Leadership? Authentic Leadership? I guess the problem I'm having is not related to any of these adjectives. They're all great characteristics of the type of Leadership I teach. It's simply because Leadership is something that needs to be adapted to the context and the people being led and can simply not be captured in a single adjective. In my mind, it's all about moving the cursor so that you get the best out of yourself and others. My mission is to strengthen middle managers in their leadership role so their teams can flourish. 🌟🚀 (Programs available in Dutch, French, German, and English) #LeadershipDevelopment #LeadershipCoaching #GetInspired

I Get It. It's Hard For Leaders Expected To Perform Every Day. The myth of the perfect leader is a toxic trap that affects approach, vision, development, well-being, and effectiveness. I often relate this to a football (soccer for my American friends) team that typically trains all week and plays one game on the weekend (sometimes two in 7 days). They are expected to perform optimally during that time. For leaders, though, this is different. The reality is that a leader is constantly under the microscope, striving to meet and exceed expectations and pressured from above to perform DAILY. Over time, every misstep to them feels like a monumental failure. The result is often elevated stress and anxiety normalised, fast-forward, and it's burnout or a gradual decline in effectiveness and mismanagement or micromanagement to avoid losing perceived 'control.' What if leadership development was done differently? What if the team and broader organisational culture supported resilience, mistakes, and failures and understood that leaders can't do it day in and day out? What if they understood that leaders were humans before being leaders and were 'really OK' with this? What if they didn't just plaster how they are 'people-first' on office walls but, in reality, breathe down the leader's neck as soon as a KPI goes wonky? What if the leader understood that It's not a straight line but a very messy, squiggly one? Some of the leaders I help have been on the same journey and are currently going through it or find it hard to admit that this is coming. This is where a leadership coach can ground you, help you hit the brakes, help you with self-awareness, help you understand the problem, and work together to get you out of the situation and help you improve and keep things sustainable too. For your well-being, your development, and your team's development. Everybody wins. Let me know if that's you and if you need support. You're not alone. How do I know? I went through the same ten years ago. I've helped leaders in some of the world's most elite organisations. Book a free 30-minute clarity call today. The numbers are talking... Are you listening? On today's CoachEm podcast, Jean-Daniel Sillion shares that coaching isn’t just about steering people toward success—it’s about building an environment where success is inevitable. 🌱✨ In his leadership journey, particularly in high-growth scenarios, he developed a coaching framework rooted in strategy, structure, and culture. When stepping into a new organization or role, he starts with a 90-day plan that focuses on these three pillars. Because behind every KPI is an ecosystem of behaviors, habits, and processes. Here’s what we discussed: ➡ Success isn’t a single outcome; it’s the result of aligning the right strategy with a structure that supports it and a culture that empowers it. ➡ Numbers may guide decisions, but it’s the people behind those numbers that drive outcomes. Let’s stop treating coaching as an afterthought or a checkbox activity. It’s the differentiator between teams that meet their quotas and those that exceed them sustainably. How do you approach coaching to you strategy, especially during leadership transitions or organizational change? I’d love to hear your strategies or challenges in coaching to scale. #CoachingForImpact #LeadershipFramework #SalesSuccess #BusinessStrategy #TeamPerformance Coach2Scale: How Modern Leaders Build A Coaching Culture

A critical aspect of employee retention is enhancing employee engagement. Recent data from a Gallup survey reveals that 33% of employees are engaged, while 17% are actively disengaged, leaving a significant portion in the middle who are considered "stuck." But what if we could shift some of these "stuck" employees towards engagement? Here are some strategies to transform stuck employees into engaged contributors: - Make their work purposeful, ensuring they understand the value of their contributions. - Focus on targeted improvements. "STAY interviews" between the worker and manager can help to develop these targeted improvements. These one-on-one interviews will also enhance communication. - Recognize and reward achievements, fostering a culture of appreciation. - Foster team spirit to build stronger connections and facilitate knowledge sharing. At BSI, we specialize in helping organizations boost engagement levels among their employees.
