FLEX LNG is flexing its muscles again💪🏽 Working out the muscles does wonders when repeated regularly so happy to announce a 15 year Time Charter today for Flex Constellation from early 2026 to 2041! With this Time Charter, we further increase our backlog and earnings visibility with a charter rate for the new period in line with the existing charter rate for the vessel. Following this agreement, Flex LNG has in total 64 years of firm backlog which may increase to 98 years in the event charterers utilize all their extension options. Consequently, Flex LNG is very well positioned to navigate near term market weakness with 11.2 out of our 13 ships on firm Time Charter for the next year at an average Time Charter rate of close to $80,000 per day. Additionally, we also have one ship on variable hire until minimum Q3-2025, but where the charterer has the option to extend this variable hire to 2030. Hence, close to 90 per cent of our income days for 2025 is already covered with backlog stretching all the way into 2041 💪🏽 #lng #shipping #maritime #energy #gas #naturalgas #oil #flexing #dividend

Reuters makes an interesting dive into the founder's history of the LNG project Venture Global, giving insight into their non-LNG history putting together one of the biggest US LNG exporter and how they achieved fortunes with the project while flouting industry norms.  It was a pleasure to participate to this LNG panel at #GASTECH2024 #GasConference in Houston. As #LNG players are about to witness the next wave of the #LNGsupply coming mainly from the US and Qatar, the situation on the #globalgasmarkets may be currently considered as balanced but tightness could occur linked to the disruption of existing or future production. There are key uncertainties around the exact startup dates of several #LNGprojects and any delay could drastically change the balances considering these new projects are large scale. As a result, despite the fact that prices have cooled off from their 2022 highs, we are still away from a low #volatility price environment. By the end of 2026 the #LNGmarket is expected to grow by 25% compared to today’s size. The US will be the main source of new supply as the country’s exports are projected to grow by 40% until 2026. 2028 will see the traded #LNG market surpassing 600 MT, almost 50% higher than today’s level. The growth of the #USexports coincides with the development of the FOB contracts which allow buyers to have more flexibility. This incremental #flexibility in the destination of the LNG volumes will likely have an impact on the shipping market. Moreover, the efforts to phase out coal will boost also the #LNGdemand in the power sector, especially in Asia. As a consequence, we can expect in the coming years to have the #HH, #TTF and #JKM indexes even more correlated. Last, any supply disruptions will lead to #tightness and #volatility on the global gas markets.

Over a year ago, Ovintiv picked up EnCap Investments L.L.C's Piedra Resources, LLC, PetroLegacy Energy, and Black Swan Oil & Gas, LLC., Using $30K per flowing BOE, we attributed $2.25BN to PDP. On the $4BN deal, this left $1.75BN for drilling locations. We measured 548 drilling locations and estimated a 90% working interest off our gross acreage. This left us with 493 estimated net locations (versus 1,050 company) at $3.55MM/location, which did not credit benefit for the DUCs, especially on the western acreage. At least Ovintiv came away with a large number of absolute locations. Based on our rough sketch of the deal, this looked like another rich per-location price. However, we had no reason to think these prices would start to come down. Inventory is the most important asset, and everyone needs more runway. Using the larger well set associated with the Martin acreage, we applied a 2-mile lateral type curve of 400 MBO and 1.1 BCF. On a half-cycle, pretax basis using $825 of capex per lateral foot and $80 oil and $4 gas, we got a modest 41% pre-tax IRR. This deal reinforced the scarcity of inventory and the marginal cost of swing production, over a year ago. Now, we have to swallow this benchmark as a pre ExxonMobil / Pioneer Natural Resources Company transaction value measurement.

Cheniere, the biggest LNG exporter in the U.S., wants to define emission rules. Cheniere was directly impacted by the cancellation of an SPA (Sales and Purchase Agreement) by the French government with a French utility due to U.S. upstream emissions for its LNG production. Subsequently, Cheniere sought ways to prevent this from happening in the future, becoming entangled in the emerging industry of "paper offsets" and other questionable schemes in order to market its LNG as environmental OK. Oil Royalty and the Houston-Guyana Connection Worlds are colliding today in the form of news headlines from the nation’s two-largest oil and gas companies, rivals in the Permian and a currently on-ice partnership in the gift that keeps giving known as South America’s Guyana. Houston-based ExxonMobil and Calif.-based Chevron, the King and Queen of crude production—and last year’s largest megamergers coming in at $60 billion and $53 billion, respectively—have a few things today to share with us mere mortals. Reese Energy Consulting is following the latest from our U.S. oil royalty in three chapters: Hello, Neighbor, Love Me Two Times, and Stuck in the Middle with You. In an electrical shock to some and a what-the-hell-took-you-so-long from others, Chevron says it will pack up its Golden State headquarters and relocate to Houston, where sources say a neighborhood welcome party could be in order. But maybe not so fast. Exxon and Chevron have also released simultaneous 2Q earnings reports on this auspicious day, but only one is scoring the love beats. Exxon has announced a $9.2 billion profit, largely resulting from its acquisition of Pioneer Natural Resources Company crowning it the Permian’s largest producer, and its extraordinary crude production in Guyana. Chevron reported adjusted earnings of $4.7 billion, citing refinery woes but no doubt stymied by last year’s acquisition of Hess Corporation and a 30% stake in the Exxon-led consortium controlling all of Guyana’s oil production. Which brings us to our third chapter, where we find Chevron stuck in the middle of its Hess Corporation buy with Exxon. The King and Queen, locked in a battle of wills over a right of first refusal in Guyana’s land o’ plenty, won’t likely see an arbitration court now for at least another year. What do you think?
