Members are selected for their specialized knowledge as well as their civicmindedness and interest. Advisory committees for College occupational programs are required by the Ohio Board of Regents and, where applicable, the Ohio Department of Education. In addition, at Cuyahoga Community College, advisory committees are established for special purposes, such as the apprenticeship program advisory committee. The advisory committee’s role is purely advisory in nature, not administrative or policy-making. The committee’s function is to advise and assist in program planning, development and implementation.
