One of the highlights of our recent enhanced Postgres compatibility announcement is the new Adaptive Cost-based Optimizer (CBO), designed to optimize query execution across distributed zones or regions. What does this mean for you?. ✅ Better performance for a wider range of queries: The Adaptive CBO takes into account data distribution and network latency across zones or regions, eliminating the need for hints and manual query tuning. You get optimal query plans for a wide range of queries out of the box. ⚡Postgres with a modern architecture: The adaptive CBO uses new features built in the database to support Postgres-like optimizations, including bitmap scans, parallel query plans, and advanced table statistics. This means you get many of the expected benefits of deep Postgres compatibility but in a distributed database. The adaptive CBO goes hand in hand with smart data distribution that optimizes data placement between colocation and distribution (more on this later). My favorite of these quotes is this one… Data and customer value drive AI partnerships AI is a game-changer, but not a magic bullet. Successful cloud #partnerships will be built on data, customer value, and integrations. "Right now, #data is the best value add you can provide... if you, a legacy company, have a large customer base and can provide certain kinds of data that is not available to any of these companies and you can #monetize that, that is kind of the Holy Grail," Neeti Gupta highlighted. Seems like the key reason #Salesforce and #Workday partnered recently.
