How do you rebrand a museum for the community it serves? The Toledo Museum of Art (TMA), based in Ohio, faced a unique challenge: refreshing its identity for a modern audience while honouring its rich 120+ year history. The result, led by Detroit-based agency Lafayette American, is a dynamic rebrand that brings TMA’s heritage to life across digital, physical, and community spaces. At the heart of the project is a new T-shaped logo, inspired by the museum’s iconic building. Through AR, the T comes alive on campus as a physical structure, while online, it shifts as users scroll the website. The rebrand incorporates a palette inspired by TMA’s artworks and fonts that bridge timeless modernism and institutional heritage. “It was really, really wonderful to [hear] people say, ‘I've lived in Toledo my whole life, and I'm just so proud to say this is my museum… I can't wait to see the identity in real life, I can't wait to visit,’” says Meg Jannott, Lafayette American’s Head of Design. “Those are the most rewarding moments.” A key insight driving the project was the realisation that the stakeholders weren’t just the museum director or board but the broader Toledo community. As Lafayette American’s Toby Barlow explains in the 2024 D&AD Annual, “You need to talk to the people who live in the neighbourhood, who are using this as their backyard or their village square.” The rebrand won a D&AD Yellow Pencil in the Brand Refresh Category and several other awards. A PlayMichigan.com analysis has found that at the midway point of 2024, combined Detroit casino revenue is the best its been since 2019. Total slot and table game revenue for the MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino Hotel and Hollywood Casino at Greektown through the first six months of 2024 was $644.7 million. Figures released today by the Michigan Gaming Control Board show the Detroit casinos had combined revenue of $104.6 million in June alone, which is, traditionally, a softer month. That's down 6% from May's total of $111.3 million, but up 2.6%, year-over-year from revenue of $101.9 million in June of 2023. Contact me for sponsorship information about this formal event at Journeyman Distillery on October 25th. -Nearly one in three families struggle to afford diapers. -Diapers can cost $80-90 a month. -It costs more than $1,000 a year to diaper a child using the average disposable product. -Infants require up to 12 diapers per day and toddlers require about eight diapers per day. That adds up to 360 diapers per month for newborns and 240 diapers a month for toddlers. -Cloth diapers are not accepted at most childcare centers. -60% of parents experiencing diaper insecurity who rely on childcare report missing school or work because they did not have the diapers needed to send their children to childcare. -Diapers are a basic need for all children (like food, clothing and shelter) yet most state and national safety net programs do not recognize them as such.

Today, in partnership with the Chicago Sports Commission, we are pleased to announce that the 2024 NASCAR Chicago Street Race Weekend generated $128 million in economic impact (17% more than last year) and $43.6 million in media impact (85% higher than last year). Some other notable top-line numbers from this year’s race: • 53,063 unique attendees took part in this year’s festivities, up from 47,405 last year, thanks in part to the introduction of single-day tickets. • Over 11% of attendees said it was their first time in Chicago – more than twice as many as last year. • The event generated 38,095 hotel room nights, up 29% from 2023. • 80% of 2024 non-local attendees would recommend Chicago as a travel destination.
