After working in the Anatomy Department for work/study at Emory, I thought teaching Anatomy and doing research would be a rewarding career. I absolutely loved Gross Anatomy and Histology, and enjoyed teaching medical and dental students. Research rotations were another issue. I hated the loneliness and lack of daily interaction. That's when I realized pursuing this PhD was not a good idea.. Left grad school with a 4.0 GPA, a deep knowledge of Anatomy, and not much of a clue what to do with…
After working in the Anatomy Department for work/study at Emory, I thought teaching Anatomy and doing research would be a rewarding career. I absolutely loved Gross Anatomy and Histology, and enjoyed teaching medical and dental students. Research rotations were another issue. I hated the loneliness and lack of daily interaction. That's when I realized pursuing this PhD was not a good idea.. Left grad school with a 4.0 GPA, a deep knowledge of Anatomy, and not much of a clue what to do with it. Fortunately, this lead me into getting certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, through which I eventually found myself in a reluctant sales position. Long story short, I found my calling in medical sales, and have spent the last 36 years involved in selling, managing, and training.

I work with some of my professional speaking colleagues to deliver workshops on a weekly basis at The Lord's Place. The Lord's Place provides shelter and vocational programs for people who have been homeless, released from incarceration, and those fighting addictions. It gives them a real chance to change their lives. The changes I've seen in just a short time helping people to tell their story are amazing.
