We launched Bedrock back in April at RSA. The response from security and data management leaders has been surprising... Here's what Pranava Adduri and I have learned from having hundreds of conversations: 1/ Despite the massive pains associated with data security, the first stab at DSPM left a bad taste in a lot of leaders' mouths. Beneath the glitzy marketing and hype were large infrastructure bills, scalability challenges, and high false positive rates. People wanted and expected more. 2/ Nevertheless, data security remains VERY top of mind and is a GROWING concern. This is because: - Network boundaries don't exist in cloud, so data moves freely - The amount of data generated is growing exponentially - Data and privacy breaches are increasing in news cycle prominence 3/ Consistently, we're hearing that people *struggle with the basics*: accurate and scalable data discovery and classification and visibility into data access. It feels like we're on the cusp of a massive shift in how companies manage and secure their data.
