Quick tip for folks using Marketo Measure with Drift. Marketo Measure integrates directly with Drift, and will create a touchpoint through the javascript, when a person's email address is submitted through the Drift bot. But, therein lies a very common challenge. A lot of Drift playbooks look to see if we recognize the person and then, if we recognize them, we don't ask for their email address again. When that happens the integration doesn't get a chance to fire the Marketo Measure javascript. A simple solution for this is to add to your playbooks, "In case the chat gets disconnected, can you please confirm your email address?" Most users won't feel that this is intrusive. So, it should have a minimal impact on completions. And, it'll have a massive impact on the performance of your Marketo Measure javascript.

There is no hiding the fact I hate #LeadScoring, it's been for too long the silver bullet of sales and marketing alignment, and I'm yet to hear a single #Marketo customer say: It's working and adding value. For me it only works if you have 1000s of leads ingressing per week and 10 sales people. But even then... 🚨 Marketo, we need to talk 🚨 Is it just me, or has Marketo been snoozing through 2024? 😴 I just checked their release notes, and in nine months, we’ve seen… 20 features. And we're not talking about revolutionary stuff here. Their big June drop after a dry spell? Templates for interactive webinars and some new form fields. 🙄 Now, I’m not saying they need to jump on the AI bandwagon and revolutionize marketing automation every quarter, but... should we expect a little more? This is a great post on the challenges of SEO at an Enterprise level. These are complex issues for sure -- getting buy-in for projects/money, cutting through corporate red tape, finding resources... Quantifying things in cost/ROI is crucial. So are your people skills. To get things done in a large corporation, you need IT, sales, editorial, etc to be on board. They need to understand the specifics of the ask plus the payoff for them and the company. If you make the win a team win, not just an SEO win, you're much more likely to get buy-in! If you spend money bidding on branded terms, playing defense... You'll want to check this out.
