Static Stretching before Training Perhaps 🤔, passive stretching (ie duration 30 seconds to 5 minutes 2-3/10 intensity) can be used to ID an area(s) of fascial adhesion to be then released via appropriate soft tissue releasing tools (ie massage gun, foam roller, lacrosse ball & the likes) Shying away from such a resource & moving right into dynamic work, may potentially: 1. exacerbate fascial distortion 2. &/or increase the chance of micro tearing (adding to more inflammation) Passive long-prolonged stretching, if used correctly in the right sequence, can be a good transition to more dynamic work “Nothing is bad”, it is often the context & duration/intensity/frequency that it is utilized in What is “lost in” passive stretching can be quickly made up with dynamic work To move right into dynamic work, makes assumptions of good soft tissue compliance. If this is present, then by all means move into such methodology, & do not entertain any passive stretching, however, reality & experience often dictates, it is better to be safe than sorry, wrt increasing the previous latter 2 points mentioned above. Thus incorporating passive stretching may be a good viable option prior to dynamic stretching … 🏃🏻♂️🙄🤔😊
