We get it, RevOps folks are: Team players who love to see others succeed. Content to work diligently behind the scenes. But here's the reality: You deserve recognition! The Fix: Strategic Communication Communicate your impact, not just your tasks. Here's how (without bragging): Highlight Achievements: Showcase how your projects improved efficiency, accelerated processes, or boosted results (e.g., faster campaign turnaround with new intake forms). Connect to Goals: Tie your work directly to the GTM team's objectives (e.g., improved data enriched contacts for more qualified leads, increased ICP penetration with better segmentation). Basically, show how you empower the GTM team's success. Examples: "The new intake form streamlined campaign launches, saving Marketing X hours per week." "The revised pipeline review process accelerated deal closure by Y%." "Data enrichment enabled a Z% increase in qualified leads for sales outreach." Remember, you don't need to brag. Just share the impact! By effectively communicating your value, you'll gain the recognition and resources you deserve.

There’s a growing trend in the tech world: consolidation. Big players like Salesforce, Hubspot, Gong, ZoomInfo, Outreach, Apollo, and Clari are all racing to become your all-in-one solution. At first glance, it sounds ideal—everything you need under one roof. But is this really the best option? Consolidation can lead to diluted functionality, higher costs, and slower innovation. Many all-in-one solutions feel incomplete, leaving users longing for the specialized features of single-point tools. On the other hand, managing multiple tools can be a logistical nightmare with compatibility issues and fragmented workflows. So, why might consolidation be a good option for you? Unified systems can simplify operations, reduce the need for extensive training, and streamline support. Everything just works together, allowing more time for strategic initiatives rather than troubleshooting. But the decision isn’t straightforward and depends on several key factors. When deciding whether to consolidate or expand your tech stack, keep these variables in mind: 1️⃣ Current & Planned RevOps Resources: Do you have the bandwidth to manage multiple tools? A smaller team might benefit from a unified platform, while a larger team might handle specialized tools better. 2️⃣ Current Business Needs: What are your immediate priorities and challenges? Identify your critical needs and see which approach aligns best. 3️⃣ Future Growth Plans: Are you planning changes to your business model, expansion, consolidation, or pivoting? Your tech stack should support and scale with your future plans. 4️⃣ Existing Tech Stack & Integrations: How well do your current tools play together? Evaluate the compatibility and integration capabilities of new tools with your existing stack. 5️⃣ Budget: What’s your cost ceiling, and how does each option fit in terms of ROI and risk? Consider the total cost of ownership and potential return on investment. 6️⃣ Technological Innovation: How critical are emerging technologies like AI, intent signaling, and automation to your strategy? Could changes make certain tools obsolete, less valuable, or enhance other tools? The right tech stack can be the difference between stagnation and innovation. Ultimately, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Evaluating these factors will help you find the right balance between consolidation and single-point solutions, propelling your business forward with agility and innovation. I don’t typically post here, but I wanted to share a project that I’m extremely proud of. Over the past few months, I took on the biggest project of my career: building a fully custom Project Management tool for Aplos inside Salesforce. Our Professional Services team needed a solution to streamline processes, eliminate data silos, and improve the customer experience—and we delivered. With the help of Andrea J., and others, we built a centralized PSA (Professional Services Automation) tool that brings project management, client services, and data insights into one seamless platform. Here's what we created: - 6 Custom Objects tailored to our team’s workflows - 30+ Complex Workflows automating key tasks, communication and updates - 150+ Custom Fields providing real-time data insights - Custom Page Layouts to ensure a user-friendly interface - Training Programs to equip our team for success with this new tool This isn’t just a tool for today; it’s built to be scalable and future-proof, ensuring we can grow and adapt as our needs evolve. The new PSA streamlines the handoff from Sales to Professional Services, ensuring all customer data is in one place. This gives us valuable insights from the start of every project, allowing our team to focus on what matters most—driving results and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Months of planning and testing have paid off, and seeing it in action makes it all worthwhile. I can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have on our clients, team, and Aplos .
