While we covered many topics I can summarize my sentiment quoting her article below: "If those factors (...rate tapering as well as a predictable and peaceful transition to the new administration) fall in the market’s favor, Ural said the “optimism fatigue” felt by investors in recent years could be lifted, leading to real market activity. I would like to think the worst may be behind us soon, Ural said. The macroeconomic conditions may shift to a more lucrative environment, and then it’s going to come down to the company-specific challenges.”  The industry is ready to resume its growth path boosted by innovation and AI despite the macro and regulatory challenges.

CinRx Pharma just shared data on its two innovative assets to tackle #obesity at the recent 2024 #ObesityWeek Conference: 🔬 A long-acting GDF-15 analog CIN-109 and a selective PYY3-36 analog CIN-110 ✨Both demonstrated promising tolerability and weight loss in early-stage studies in PI single (-110) and multiple (-109) ascending dose studies. ⏩ From the #strategic horizon, and the expected strong growth rates in this category, more MOAs are needed beyond the GLP1 agonists. As we saw this past year and late last year, the main manufacturers have been peppered with supply, manufacturing, and altogether supply chain issues, which made keeping up with demand quite challenging and does not make for a sustaining business model. With more than 400 vaccine trials underway, the future of cancer care is bright, my colleagues @Bernadette Bourjolly, Christina Corridon, Adi Natu, Sankalp Sethi and Chris Wong argue in this new piece. That’s not to say the path forward is without obstacles. They detail the development, manufacturing and distribution challenges #pharma companies must overcome to demonstrate the value of these vaccines.   They also write that individualized neoantigen therapies (INTs)—personalized treatments that are tailored to a patient’s tumor’s unique mutational signature—are especially promising.  How do we develop more personalized treatments? We’ve long advocated for partnerships in the R&D space, and it’s encouraging that several strategic partnerships are focused on accelerating INT development. Just last year, the U.K. government and BioNTech reached an agreement with a goal of helping 10,000 people benefit from personalized cancer vaccines by 2030. And that’s a wrap for ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research European Union Meeting 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.  It's been an engaging 4 days of networking with industry leaders and exploring the latest advancements in #HEOR, #RWE generation and compelling #patientcenteredvalue demonstration. Here’s an overview of some of my key takeaways and highlights: Plenary Session 2 – «Ready, Set, Go: The Last Sprint For The EU HTAR», provided valuable insights into readiness and how diverse stakeholders are preparing for the HTAR in their organizations, how they are implementing changes, as well as what key challenges are still ahead. Notably, I had the pleasure to lead the biannual Oracle Life Sciences #RealWorldIndustrySummitofExperts (R.I.S.E) luncheon discussion on the role of #PatientFocusedDrugDevelopment and #PatientCenteredValueDemonstration for #HTA in the context of #JCA. In the words of Yvette Venable: The patient perspective is crucial at every stage of drug development and #JCA provides an opportunity to collaboratively integrate the patient voice." Massive thanks to our consortium and the other panelists Elisabeth Oehrlein, PhD, MS and Marjorie Leclerc for their enthusiastic participation and engaging discussion. The shift toward genuinely personalised care in oncology is causing a hypersegmentation of cancer types. Physicians are not the only ones having to tailor their approach to treating their patients; companies are now realising that they must evolve their commercial strategies, transitioning from the traditional didactic approach to something more individualized. At the heart of this evolution is the balance between patients' and HCPs' needs. While patients focus on quality-of-life outcomes, HCPs are focused on survival and seamless treatment integration into their practise. Striking the right balance is essential for successful commercialisation, but it not easy, as I've learnt from those in the oncology trenches, such as Rebecca Goldstein, PhD, CMPP Goldstein. Early collaboration with all stakeholders and understanding the full spectrum of experiences, from patient journeys to provider challenges and access issues, are essential to long-term success. The results of centring patients and building strategic partnerships early in the journey are worth it, just like the article is worth the read.

🤔 Reflections after two days at the CNS Summit I’m feeling truly inspired by the insights and forward-looking discussions on #AI, #Personalization, and #VirtualPatients that have emerged so far. The drive to advance drug development and improve patient outcomes is palpable, and it’s energizing to be among so many thought leaders committed to positive change. Yet, amidst all this innovation, a stark reminder remains: our field still relies heavily on manual pill counts to assess drug exposure in pivotal studies. In a world pushing towards real-time data and personalization, this gap is hard to ignore. Without accurate, modern approaches, like smart packages, to drug exposure data, building robust AI models and achieving true personalization will continue to be challenging.
