Truly nonpartisan activities that educate legislators of all political backgrounds about the issues impacting CPAs and businesses. This is not "political activity" as commonly understood - it is helping educate about what is needed by CPAs to do our jobs in best protecting the public. I have learned from and developed relationships with legislators across the political spectrum in having civil and grace-filled conversations about the issues impacting the accounting profession. We have seen MANY successes through building these relationships and education in key initiatives, including pushing the CPA licensure protections through sunset review and revising the hours required to sit for the exam.
