There is a race among battery manufacturers to boost capacity, evident in the US with $73 billion in battery plant investments announced in the first half of 2024. JLR / SAHM Education Part 1 The first objective of the South Asian Heritage Month Trust is to, develop and deliver educational programs that highlight the history, heritage and cultural contributions of South Asian communities in Britain. For #SAHM2024, JLR did a School Engagement program where proud creators visited 3 schools in the West Midlands and spoke about who JLR is, it's link to Tata Motors, what #SAHM is and it's 2024 theme #FreeToBeMe. https://lnkd.in/eN9jrpKJ I felt so proud to be part of this with the awesome team of: Dacey De Souza, Mohammed Nissar (cc. Fozia N.), Harpreet Chand, Neil Millican, malik nazim, Beverley Momenabadi, Shaun Banger, John Paul Mattocks and Deepak Hari For me the JLR #CreatorsCode, which is a guide for all employees to be #ProudCreators and means each one of us can be our true authentic selves at work. This code is why I feel I can be 'Free To Be Me' at work. So as part of our presentation to the children I thought it was important to explain this. Customer Love - We Love our Customers - Continually working hard to deliver a modern luxury experience to earn and keep our customers' trust and loyalty. Unity - We Work As One - Embracing difference, welcoming challenges together and empowering each other to deliver. Integrity - We Speak The Truth - Building trust by speaking openly and honestly, listening attentively and treating others respectfully. Growth - We Progress Together – Taking the initiative and using failure as an opportunity to learn. We Develop by giving honest feedback. I was humbled by the positive feedback from teachers and parents on the impact this had on their children. You Nourish your Team, but do you Nourish yourself? After 47 years of leading Supply Chain Teams, I decided it was time to retire and do something specifically for myself. As leaders we typically are single focused on results and building our Teams to perform at high levels with the concept of going “all-in”. We sacrifice home life, personal interests, leisure time with family because we choose to ensure our Team is running at peak efficiency. But, are WE running at peak efficiency? Typically the answer is no, we do not allow ourselves to do anything for ourselves, we remain singular in focus and determination. Shame on my fellow Shippers for not asking about green trucking solutions. I ask about this at every QBR and you should also. What I often hear back is that there are no solutions available, or carbon-offsets can be purchased. I don't want an offset; I want a real carbon reduction. We are a long way away from getting electrified trucks in many places other than port drayage or light duty last mile deliveries. Truckers could start offering renewable diesel, for example, as a bridging solution to get us to zero emissions. When will the industry start offering real alternatives?
