Internal vs Agency Recruitment.... Today Benjamin Mena, prior internal recruiter, agency owner, and podcast host of "The Elite Recruiter Podcast" and I discuss some of the differences between internal and agency recruitment. When applying through a company website or via job board postings for positions with a company, the sheer volume of applications that companies receive often times and through no fault of the internal recruiter results in less time reviewing resumes and in many cases a lower chance of being invited to interview. Like with most life instances, there are many organizations that do it better than others regarding internal recruitment, but a candidate can benefit by taking a hybrid approach that leverages both an internal approach and working with an agency which may yield superior results leveraging the relationships built by the agencies. Don't like agencies? It happens.. If that is the case work diligently to build real relationships with those in your industry.
