Maybe, just maybe, winter isn't all that bad
American Family Insurance blog
As long as I can recall, I haven’t been winter’s biggest fan. As a kid on a working farm, when I carried water to animals through snow as tall as I was uphill both ways, winter felt like an endless and brutal season. When I was 10, I made a deal with Mother Nature; I was allowed to curse the cold, the snow and the ice, but I could never once complain about the summer heat.

The Urbane Farmer blog
http://blog.joshuafeyen.com/
Join my ongoing adventures in urban gardening, told through the eyes of a mid-life man raised on a farm now living in Madison, Wisconsin. A lot of how I garden I "just know" from years at my mother's side in her garden. Here, I share that farm wisdom and write about community gardens, permaculture, and other urban and organic gardening topics I happen upon as my gardening adventure continues. I enjoy using social media to engage with and talk about gardening topics.

While delivered with tongue in cheek, this award is an example of my passion to improve social media marketing across industries. SocialMedia.org maintains a confidential discussion board, and as of their 50th meeting in October, 2019, I had answered the most questions from peers at other Fortune 500 companies.

From the award ceremony "The American Family Insurance social and digital marketing team have a singular focus on increasing agent adoption. Josh Feyen, Jeff Frye and Ashley Mortimer dedicate their time to identifying new ways to engage and support their field. Their innovative digital maturity model, Crawl, Walk, Run and Fly, pioneered in 2010, challenges agents to grow their digital presence, spotlighting those who have been successful in key tracked performance areas.
'Josh Feyen, Jeff Frye and Ashley Mortimer are the backbone to the success of the American Family Field Digital program. Their well rounded and cohesive approach in implementing Hearsay Social, Sites and Relate provide the strong foundation needed to explore new use cases adding to their already transformational program,' said Steve Scanlon, at American Family Mutual Insurance Company.

American Family Blue Sky Innovation
In 2013, American Family launched an internal social media and collaboration tool.
