AB&T was delighted to host the Indiana State Chapter NKBA meeting recently. Our staff welcomed NKBA members and guests as well as three AB&T suppliers including Cengiz Zanbak with AKDO, Matt Adamson with Laticrete and Paul Bronkowksi with Miracle Sealants. After some enjoyable noshing and socializing, we got down to the business at hand – Designer Challenge. Each of our suppliers gave an informative talk then attendees were split into teams and worked together to develop a multi-faceted design concept. An Information Page with questions regarding grout and sealer products was completed and two or more drawings of the final design had to be submitted by each group. AB&T Staff served as ‘runners’ for the teams and with only 35 minutes allotted for the challenge, there was a mad rush for samples. As the final sketches were completed, everyone was begging for additional time. All teams did a fantastic job of being innovative and with all the expertise present, the competition was tough!! The two top teams were selected by all participants then Jacquie Winter, owner of AB&T and Kelly Cheslyn, AB&T Vice-President chose the winning team. The runner up team and winners received gift certificates to several local restaurants with the winners each getting a St. Elmo’s Shrimp Cocktail. The winning team included Joelle Orem, Susan Benedict, Shane Jardine and Jan Bannister.
