Rare serious post for my adtech homies. I could use some advice. I'm trying to balance this tension between wanting to do more PG deals to get better rates and inventory and philosophically I'm bought in. However, practically, our entire optimization methodology is built around bid modifiers and the ability to shift spend towards higher performing inventory over time based on a bunch of different data in the log files as well as aggregated 3rd party data sources such as the census data etc. with measurement based off go lift on revenue. This has led us to buy via PMPs almost exclusively. Is it possible to somehow find some sort of middle ground? Like PMPs with minimums so the rates look more like PG deals and the inventory is more premium? Can PG deals be booked with flexibility inside them somehow? It seems impractical to do 2 week sprint PG deals and a huge amount of operational overhead coordinating with pubs. I just am trying to understand what others have done and and what is possible. Any advice is appreciated.
