Today, I had the privilege of being part of a powerful roundtable discussion at Fortune #BrainstormAI in San Francisco, where I joined a group of visionary leaders shaping the future of AI. Huge thanks to the impressive panelists: Alexandra Debow, Co-founder and CEO of swsh; Arvind Jain, Founder and CEO of Glean; Najeeb Uddin, Senior VP and CIO at AARP; and, of course, Verne Kopytoff from Fortune, who led the discussion. We went deep into the real conversations about AI—it’s innovation potential for both customer experiences and operator workflows. My top tips: (a) start with a customer problem but be okay to evolve as you experiment (b) unlock ideas with a smaller, representative dataset that people from across your company can test ideas with, and (c) try and “mix” AI & business thinking at the team level, not org level. At #Zillow, we’re using AI-powered tools to transform the home buying experience and help real estate professionals—like loan officers and agents—work faster and more efficiently. By automating tasks like summarizing phone calls, sending follow-ups, and setting reminders, AI helps agents stay organized and focused. Seattle-based Frazier Healthcare Partners, a dedicated healthcare private equity firm, closed its latest flagship fund, Frazier Healthcare Growth Buyout Fund XI, L.P. FHGB XI was significantly over-subscribed. The fund hit its hard cap of $2.3 billion of limited partner commitments in six months. FHGB XI will acquire controlling interests in middle-market healthcare companies. The fundraise comes not long after the private equity firm's venture capital-focused arm, Frazier Life Sciences, secured $630 million for its evergreen Public Fund. Since its inception, Frazier has raised over $9 billion of capital for private funds and co-investment opportunities. It has invested in more than 200 companies over 33 years. Today, I had an insightful conversation with a colleague who has over 11 years of experience, with the last 7 years spent in the same role. They shared some challenges that have left them feeling stuck in their career. Key points from our discussion: 1. Their manager is not in the same location or time zone. 2. Managers change frequently. 3. Their manager changed just before their appraisal. 4. They report to managers without the same skill set. 5. New managers bring different expectations. Having just finished "I, Human" by Tomás Chamorro-Premuzic, a book on AI and Leadership, the concept of curiosity as a key differentiator from machines stood out to me. In his interview with Forbes, Chamorro-Premuzic emphasizes that curiosity and asking good questions are essential for good leadership in today's automated world. He highlights that constant information consumption is like a diet of fast food, and effective leaders must ask questions that provide meaningful insights and cut through the noise. I am incredibly honored and humbled to be named one of the Top 50 Women Leaders of Silicon Valley, and its an honor to be listed with such an extraordinary group of Women Leaders across the bay area. Congratulations to all recipients Women We Admire. Let's continue to inspire and empower each other as we pave the way forward for the next set of women leaders.   As a Woman in Technology I have faced a lot of challenges in my career and over years I learnt how to overcome these challenges and grow as a professional. I often get questions on what advice I have for someone early in in their career. Here are my humble learnings and advice to the next set of leaders for becoming the best version of yourself:   1. Most people fail to try rather than try and fail. Every job and experience makes you learn something new. Never be afraid of taking risks. 2. Hard Work, killer Instinct and desire to excel are qualities that take you towards path of success 3. Growth Mindset: Ability to learn and master new domains and technologies builds a muscle in you that can leverage in different roles and companies. 4. Believe in yourself and surround yourself with people that truly believe in you. You need this more in tough times as these people lift you and become your sounding board. 5. Don’t be afraid to voice your opinion even in a room which is full of men (or senior people). Don’t be scared of raising your hand when new opportunities arise. Advocate for yourself when no one else does it. 6. There is nothing wrong in dreaming big if you can wake up early in the morning to realize your dreams. 7. Be relentless , greedy and ambitious and have the perseverance to overcome challenges. Dont be afraid of failures. Failures are bound to happen when you take risks. Learn from them and move on. 8. Genuinely care about your reports and there mental and physical well being. Relationships take you places so invest in them as much as you spend time in learning new skills. 9. Be thankful for every opportunity and stay humble. Not everyone in life is blessed with things you have. Try to help others to achieve their goals and become their sponsors. 10. Never for get your roots and where you came from - be your authentic self . You can never please everyone. I was recently interviewed by Raconteur on why CEOs need to know how to speak to the press. I advise that executives should respond naturally in written Q&As, more akin to how they would actually speak, to avoid coming across as contrived - and this is where PR professionals can be a help or a hindrance. I also highlight the fine balance C-Suite professionals should try and strike when engaging in verbal interviews, “being human while staying on-message” but “not letting it stray into over-familiarity and too far away from what you are there to actually talk about.” This is something myself and the team at O'Hear & Co work really hard on when supporting startup founders and C-Suite or other spokespeople. Leaning on my ex-TechCrunch experience, I also share tips on the best way for journalists to gain access to busy executives, such as considering whether a quick quote is needed, or a genuine dialogue to inform a long-form article.
