As the head of data at various tech startups (Loom/Atlassian, Shipt/Target and GoFundMe), I've had to sunset product analytics tools such as Amplitude and Mixpanel at every startup because these tools didn't scale. Andrew Chen puts into words what many product people have realized in the trenches. There is more to product decision making than data. Having taste, sometimes rebranded as "product sense", is something I've been leaning into.
