You're facing a defensive colleague. How do you effectively provide feedback and suggestions?
Starting with your intent is key. Let them know that you are providing them with feedback because you care about their growth and success. Establish trust and psychological safety by reminding them everyone has developmental areas, including you. Share that you view feedback as a gift, because it's far easier to stay silent as it can also feel uncomfortable to provide honest direction.

How can you support a high-potential employee who lacks confidence in their leadership abilities?
It’s critical they start recognizing their own achievements and one of the easiest ways to do this is to encourage them to keep a weekly “Confidence Catalog.” This is an ongoing list of the calculated risks, bold moves and smart steps they’ve taken as a leader and the impact it made… regardless of how small it seems. You can suggest they analyze - and use GenAI to do so - on a quarterly basis to see their strengths!

What are some ways to maintain your fitness routine while on a business trip?
Here are my secrets to keeping up my health and wellness routine when I travel: 💪🏻 Buy bands: I strongly advise buying a few inexpensive bands, packing them in your luggage. I’ve gotten some of the hardest workouts in my hotel room using a bath towel as my mat & using bodyweight exercises and a variety of bands that take up zero space in my suitcase.🧳 🌰 🥜 Make Muesli: I pack a small disposable bag with a combination of oats, walnuts, hemp parts, pumpkin seeds, Chia seeds, vanilla extract, and a little bit of sweetener ( Stevia for me). Wherever I go, I just add milk -which is available everywhere - and let it sit for about 20 minutes in a large cup. Delicious and nutritious meal!

How can strategic communicators improve their emotional intelligence?
Ask questions. Not just any question, but open-ended questions. More specifically, open-ended questions that dig into how others feel about the facts you are presenting, their emotion and how they see this impacting the future. Ask about facts, feelings and future vision and you will have the ability to understand, empathize and connect.

Our goal is to build lasting relationships among professionals that help women continue to become the best leaders they can be, whether they have already reached the C-Suite or are rapidly on their way there.
CSweetener relies on a technology platform that allows for profiling, matching, virtual meeting and tracking capabilities. It will also provide for a social community that allows both mentors and mentees to engage with each other on an ongoing basis. The program also offers a resource library to support the program. Data gathered through the platform and program will be used to further the body of research demonstrating the value and outcome of mentoring programs. -
