I've spent a lot of time over the past few weeks working closely with leaders and employees to foster respect and civility in the workplace. A recent article I read highlighted that 7 out of 10 employees want their organization and leaders to do more to promote a respectful environment. It’s clear: this isn’t just a “nice to have”—it’s essential. Organizations are unique spaces where diverse values, perspectives, and experiences converge around shared goals. With the right strategies, they have a powerful opportunity to build understanding and skills that benefit everyone—and employees are asking for it. In my recent sessions, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. People aren't seeing these efforts as just “another mandatory session” but as practical, impactful steps that build community and strengthen their workplace culture.
