“Jen is a deeply thoughtful and caring leader, collaborator, and coach. I was privileged to serve on a health center board with her where I regularly observed her strong listening and problem-solving skills and passion for exceptional and equitable healthcare. She could be trusted to see situations from various vantage points and, on that basis, generate alternative paths forward. She champions diversity, inclusion, and equity in organizations and society, both in policy and practice. Jen is also passionate about parent coaching, child and youth development, and nurturing healthy, happy families. She loves to learn and “keep current,” which enables her to be a very resourceful coach who understands what, when, where, and how to access relevant tools, knowledge, and support for her clients and professional colleagues. Jen approaches her work with curiosity and conscientiousness and delivers exceptional service and results. When I am dealing with a personal or professional dilemma, I know Jen will be attentive and accepting and ask great questions to help me get “unstuck” and moving in the right direction to get my problem solved. ”

The 5 Things Parents Can Do To Help Their Children Thrive and Excel In School
Authority Magazine
As a Certified Parent Coach I help parents and educators with challenging behaviors, which often includes navigating anxiety, disruptive behavior, learning disabilities and sensory sensitivities. As a Certified Parent Coach I help parents and educators with challenging behaviors, which often includes navigating anxiety, disruptive behavior, learning disabilities and sensory sensitivities. COVID has created not only a disruption to normal in our children’s lives, but has been a trauma that has affected children and their academic learning in various ways. As a result of this collective trauma, no one is completely regulated at this time, least of all our children. We are seeing more children struggling with anxiety and depression on top of learning loss. Helping a child’s social and emotional well being is critical to helping them gain resiliency during this year, which will help them thrive and excel in school. In my practice, I take a whole child approach and recommend tools and techniques that are based in brain science and how a child’s body responds to stress. The 5 things I would recommend parents do to help their children thrive and excel in school is 1. Teach them how to cope with their anxiety 2. Reduce stress through mindfulness 3. Set up routines and rituals 4. Make good nutrition a priority and 5. Set goals and celebrate successes.
