“Jeff is an outstanding people developer whose collaborative approach brings out the best in those he leads. He provides clear guidance, then let's people generate ideas that work. Then, he's generous about giving praise where it's been earned. Simply, Jeff is an optimist leader who people want to rally behind. Jeff also has a natural instinct for generating solutions. I've worked with him on many occasions where he proposed clear, tailored ideas for a client--often with little prior engagement. Jeff knows how to effectively align the services provided by the company he represents with the needs of the client--all while generating genuine trust and mutual respect. Jeff makes this look natural because he has a broad, and varied background that includes technical delivery, sales, operations, finance and business development. It's a great combination of skills. I've seen him seamlessly switch between several entirely different topics in the course of a few minutes, all while maintaining full command and credibility. Simply, I respect Jeff's talent, experience, and leadership because I consistenly saw him demonstrate these traits over the five years we worked closely together.”

You're facing changing business priorities. How do you align your analytical projects effectively?
Do what successful businesses have always done: Make sure you have an understanding of the priorities, the variables, and the relevant business impact. At a high level, assess the performance of past analytics and their ability to drive the business. That should give a rough idea of what’s worked and how to prioritize. Then consider your experience, instincts, and lessons learned, as well as the new variables, and add them accordingly. Much like trying a new recipe – adjust ingredients based on taste testing as you go. Of course, all of this is based on how fast you have to react to business and market changes. It also doesn’t mean every “analytics project” is full-on AI. Sometimes simple is enough to get you headed in the right direction.

What do you do if you're a healthcare manager trying to minimize errors in task delegation?
Consider automating heavily manual and repetitive tasks that are prone to error. Healthcare has an abundance of these tasks in both the rev cycle and clinical spaces. The trick is to design the right automations that will deliver fast results and ROI. Then consider moving beyond task automation to full end-to-end process automation. And add data and analytics, coupled with ML to make the automation smarter and adaptive to situational changes. These steps will greatly reduce errors as well as reduce costs and increase revenue. The staff can then focus on more value-add activities like correcting denials or spending more time with patients.
