Can this ever be said enough? Many of my clients struggle with this. They are competent, educated, brilliant but have trouble connecting. It sounds easy to think that all we need to do is be kind and everything will work out. But if we are not kind to ourselves first, it won't spread to others. And many people have difficulty being kind to themsleves. They self-judge. They are their own worst critic and cover that with perfectionism which kills careers. Be gentle with yourself today. 📣 Coaches- continuous enhancement of your program and client experience is a non-negotiable today! In order to keep up with changes in your industry and the changing wants and needs of your audience, this is something you should be assessing regularly. Changes I have made in the past year to contribute to the success of my clients: ✅The addition of a sales training vault created with the support of a Sales Expert for the coaching industry. I was tired of seeing fill-in-the-blank scripts and strategies that didn’t work. ✅The addition of a Resident Sales Coach to provide monthly sales training sessions AND multiple open office hours per week for support on sales call critiques, DM conversations, sales call follow-ups, finding and qualifying leads, and MORE. I wanted to provide something no other business coaches in this industry have been providing- an up-leveled sales training AND support experience. ✅Monthly 1:1 Goal Setting Calls (for ALL clients, both group and 1:1): In order to fully support each client with their unique goals, I want to be in touch with exactly where they are at in the Academy, what they are accomplishing, and what they are feeling challenged by so I can provide personalized support to each one in making meaningful progress every month. ✅Weekly Check-in forms: Once the monthly goals are set, this allows clients to reflect, assess, seek support, and/or realign on their goals in real time so they always know what they should be doing, and they have the support they need. ✅Weekly DM check-ins: Every week, my clients receive a personal Slack DM from me to check in on their progress for the week so I can ensure they can get questions answered and the resources they need before heading into the weekend (when I unplug!). 👉 All of these enhancements add a cost to me: either monetary or time (in some cases both). 👉 However, the success and experience of my clients is MORE than worth it! These aren’t by accident; I’m not just winging it and seeing what happens. These are intentional enhancements that: 🔥Further support the success of my clients and their own unique goals. 🔥Allow my clients to get expertise where I may not have it (all transparency here- I know where my strengths are and aren’t, and I don’t pretend to know it all!). 🔥Allow for a high-touch, personalized experience for every single client, regardless of whether they are 1:1 or group. Hard decisions are 50/50 At best, they may be 51/49- There isn't a clear "wrong" or "right" The consequences of your actions are vast, and the ripples continue for quite some time The decision the president made today to discontinue his campaign is remarkable, if only as a study into decision making If you can set aside the politics and return to the human realm, think about the gravity of the decision he faced I have found the Actor-Observer Bias to be useful in my own search for what informs consistently good decisions It is a cognitive bias that describes how people attribute their own actions to external circumstances, while attributing the actions of others to their internal characteristics or personality traits It can look like this in driving behavior The Actor: If you cut someone off in traffic, you might justify it by saying you were in a rush or didn't see the other car Observer: If someone else cuts you off, you might think they are reckless or an inconsiderate driver There will be plenty of news cycles that offer lots of opinions on the quality of the President's decision and it's timing- none that are useful What is useful is observing how a man made a hard decision, then looking inward to reflect on how we perceived it When it's your turn to make the next 51/49 decision you will be that much more prepared

Wouldn't it be great if there was a long line of perfect clients just waiting for their turn to work with you? 👇 You bet it would! You could just focus on doing great work and not have to worry about finding ways to drum up new business. But what is the mechanism that would turn this dream into a reality? MARKETING! Yuck, right? Most people I work with are technical folks with an engineering mindset who think that marketing is a bunch of BS and pushy sales techniques designed to sell snake oil to suckers. And it's true that marketing is sometimes done this way. **But that's BAD marketing** The problem with GOOD marketing is that it's invisible. When you encounter GOOD marketing, it doesn't look or feel like marketing. So... The only kind of marketing you notice is the BAD kind... ...and then, you (understandably) conclude that ALL marketing is bad. Unfortunately, this is a dangerous conclusion for a business owner to make because it leads to one of two behaviors: 1. You engage in BAD marketing out of desperation 2. You do no marketing at all Neither of these tactics is likely to lead to the freedom you craved when you went out on your own. So, what does GOOD marketing look like?
