California Legislature Approves Sen. Skinner's Bill to Protect Youth from Social Media Addiction: https://lnkd.in/gX-n_6AA Thank you Senator Nancy Skinner for creating SB 976 - The Protecting Our Kids from Social Media Addiction Act (sponsored by California Attorney General Rob Bonta and others). “Social media companies have designed their platforms to addict users, especially our kids. Studies show that once a young person has a social media addiction, they experience higher rates of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and suicide. But social media companies have been unwilling to voluntarily change their practices,” Sen. Skinner said. “With the passage of SB 976, the California Legislature has sent a clear message: When social media companies won’t act, it’s our responsibility to protect our kids.” Parents in California (like myself) now turn to Governor Gavin Newsom to put children above #BigTech profits and support SB 976.

San Diego - Do you know any available caregivers? (SIGNAL BOOST) Rifka's friend wrote the below to help in her search for staff to assist her: "Rifka ([email protected]) needs help with many errands and going out with her means speaking for her, standing up for her about misgendering, navigation, and general help. Other errands usually consist of going to the store, picking up prescriptions, or picking up food. Another part of the job is making calls for her (lawyer, Honda, medical, etc.) and taking note of the details and what to do from there. A daily task list might include: (from most to least urgent) Clean CPAP, brush hair, wash/shave face, take out trash, wash dishes, laundry, assist with bathing, water plants, empty dehumidifier, clean coffee maker, clean surfaces, check if air fryer/oven is clean…etc If you or someone you know is working for similar work, please consider reaching out to Rifka at the email above.
