You're interviewing a top candidate. How do you address their concerns about the company's diversity efforts?
First, acknowledge the topic and listen to their concerns. Then you can always discuss specific initiatives that your company focuses on such as ERG’s, Maturing programs, etc. discuss the companies leader ship and their commitment to diversity. Introduce the candidate to diverse leaders. There have been times in the past where I have brought in diverse candidates to rural areas and they have discussed their concerns and we made sure that we connect them with resources in the community from churches to cultural centers. Those are a few ways I have addressed similar concerns. Great question
