Dealer profits have dropped by 33.4% year-over-year. Although current earnings are still approximately 1.7 times higher than in 2018, the market is rapidly normalizing.   Per-unit profits have also decreased significantly. Dealerships now earn an average of $2,408 per new vehicle sold, a 32.9% decline, and $1,404 per used vehicle sold, down 22.9%.
