That could be the classic "rock and a hard spot" predicament. How do you determine if you fit your current company's foundation and if that is what you want in life? Life changes, mindsets change and the foundation you planned to be a part of might change. Regardless of what path you take in a career, just like a stone skipping across the water, enjoy the journey and take nothing for granted. Some stones are just made to wander and fill in the holes of the foundation as needed.

In the past few months of job hunting and my experience at KIRCHHOFF Automotive I have faced many ups and downs. However, I have had the honor of gaining valuable insights that I always knew but didn’t fully feel deep down. I learned that if anyone—man or woman—can do something, then we all can do it too. There is nothing in the world that we cannot achieve! No limit! I discovered that no matter what position you hold, everyone deserves the highest respect and kindness. One profound realization I had is that race doesn’t matter—we are all the same human beings, just with different situations. I experienced a new level of respect and wish everyone could feel the same in their workplace. Additionally, I gained valuable experience in this process, especially in resume writing and job hunting. As a leader, particularly in Quality Management, understanding the full spectrum of challenges my team may face is crucial to fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. Today, I completed the “Secondary Trauma for Agency Staff” course through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. This builds on my ongoing efforts to become a more empathetic and responsive leader. In the high-pressure world of quality assurance and operations, it’s easy to focus solely on metrics and processes. However, true leadership goes beyond that. It’s about recognizing and addressing the human element—the stresses and secondary trauma that can impact performance, morale, and mental health. By applying what I’ve learned, I aim to enhance my leadership approach by creating a supportive space where my team feels both understood and empowered. So, when faced with difficult choices, take a deep breath, give yourself time, and consider the impermanence of emotions. You’re not alone, and there are resources available to help you navigate life’s challenges.
