I was in London last week to spend time with clients and employees and to meet with firms interested in data architecture transformation for streamlined operations and accelerated growth. Between meetings, I spoke on our AI strategy at BNY's Asset Owner Innovation Summit and EMEA Asset Servicing Client Advisory Board meeting, and the London Stock Exchange's Financial Markets Connect 2024 alongside Nej D'Jelal, Andrei Serjantov, and Adrian Crockett, CFA. We discussed data management, governance, and analytics, as well as the role AI plays in our industry-leading data platform. Throughout the week, a few themes rose to the top: - Getting data management right is foundational to building scalable operating models for future growth - AI and GenAI are central to our innovation strategy, with use cases multiplying by the day, such as dynamic fund benchmarking, accelerated data ingestion, semantic search, and AI-assisted reconciliation - Data privacy and security are paramount and remain top of mind in all AI use cases. Our commitment to responsible and ethical use of AI and operating within the regulatory framework underpins all of our data innovation - Talent recruitment and retention are critical to successful AI adoption. They say bring it on” “We’re getting good shots in on the champ” CME is the giant in the sector, with a market capitalization of roughly $77 billion, while BGC’s is $3.99 billion.
