About
My practice, both professionally and personally, is centered on cultivating humanizing and life-affirming spaces by inviting in ways to cultivate self-awareness, social emotional intelligence, and social justice inspired actions guided by the values of people over process/profits/agenda, slowing down, less is more, moving at the speed of trust, all entities are living systems unto themselves, and interconnectedness.
Eleven years as a public school educator has provided me with endless opportunities to build safe and secure community environments for moving beyond our comfort zone for growth and connection while balancing the fluidity and accessibility for inclusiveness in delivering meaningful experiences that integrate constructivist learning theory, mindfulness, cultural humility, and social justice knowledge and values.
As an organizer, facilitator, curriculum developer, and program coordinator, I have interfaced with participants of all ages, ranging from elementary school students to our elderly. I have engaged with them through various modalities, from reflective processes, somatic practices, conflict resolution, and tons of play! I'm grateful to share that I have extensive facilitator experience and training, as well as co-creating with teams I have been with for over five years.
I am a big believer of radical honesty, body-wisdom, community-driven initiatives, transformative justice, critical thinking, the magic of diverse children’s literature, rest, and deep belly-laughs!

Unfortunately, funding for the program was lacking and the program was unable to proceed the following summer.

Developed and facilitated the yoga component to align with the objective of the mindfulness program.
This volunteer experience was cut short by the pipe-burst that flooded the Chrysalis House in Crownsville, MD that displaced the women and their children. They are still temporarily residing in Baltimore and Annapolis until the facilities are repaired and renovated. In response, I reached out to local yoga studios for support in raising funds from their clients. Evolutions Yoga in Annapolis, MD generously offered an entire week of their yoga classes as an opportunity for me to come in and speak about how they could support Chrysalis House with monetary and material donations. Over $1,600 was raised and many supplies were donated. -

Climbing as a Facilitator for Healing
Climbing Grief Fund
We climb because it adds something to our lives, but we don't always have the words to say what those things are. In these times of stress, separation, divide, and uncertainty, it can be helpful to highlight the potential ways in which climbing can contribute to our healing. Hyoyoung Minna Kim, Virginia Sanford and Sky Yardeni will unpack these topics in an interesting conversation sharing how climbing can create change on personal, interpersonal, and systemic levels.

Girls On the Way Climb-a-thon
-
I was asked by the co-owner of Brooklyn Boulders to help co-organize another bake sale & climb-a-thon at Brooklyn Boulders for Trish Herr, author of Up, and her two daughters to support their 500 mile hike across Camino de Santiago in an effort to raise awareness and funds for GirlVentures and Global Fund for Women. Over $1,000 was raised and the climb-a-thon was a huge success ending in late-night snacks and gabbing with Trish's family - her daughters are serious rockstars!
