Thanks to Nico, a 21-year-old student and co-founder of BlockPower Solutions, a Texas-based Bitcoin mining company that facilitates opportunities in the mining industry through a "pilot" project with over 600 machines. Questions below as always with a few from my LinkedIn network this week! How are your mining facilities different than others in the network? (LI) - Compete when it comes to costs by sourcing locations that have advantageous PPA’s. - Offer machines at prices below market value by partnering with Asic Jungle , leveraging their reputation and industry connections. Given the recent halving event in the Bitcoin network, how do you anticipate this will impact the mining industry, particularly in terms of profitability and operational dynamics? (LI, Sebastian Paredes, Affan Mirza) - To remain competitive in the network, it must continually become efficient - Equipment becomes outdated and a shift towards new generation equipment is evident and the main trend in new operational dynamics. What strategies or opportunities do you see for investors to capitalize on these changes in the mining landscape? (LI, Sebastian Paredes) - Correlation coefficient between machines and bitcoin of about 85%. - Machines have decrease in price by 66% while Bitcoin has 2x. - Because of machine prices going down, operations are able to return about 45% yearly cash on cash. 👉 FOMC RECAP ⚡️🚀🚀 #BITCOIN WILL PUMP Fed Holds Rates Steady, Slows Quantitative Tightening Pace The Federal Reserve announced it will maintain current interest rates and slow the pace of its balance sheet reduction. CODE FOR PRINTER COMING IN HARD Starting June 1st, the Fed will reduce its treasury redemption cap from $60 billion to $25 billion per month. The mortgage-backed securities (MBS) redemption cap will remain unchanged at $35 billion per month, with excess MBS principal payments being reinvested into treasuries. The Fed noted that risks to achieving its employment and inflation goals "have moved toward better balance over the past year," a slight change from the March policy statement, which stated that these risks "are moving into better balance." #Bitcoin #miner CleanSpark has acquired GRIID , another mining infrastructure company, for $155MM in an all-stock transaction. Both of the companies are public, with CleanSpark trading at $3.5B on around $300MM of revenue. 💡Why did this deal happen? CleanSpark will assume all of GRIID’s debts, in return for a hosting agreement that allocates 20 megawatts (MW) of power to CleanSpark. Megawatts translate into operating data centers, which in turn translate into mined Bitcoin proceeds — energy is money. With that in mind, miners are competing for the most efficient and high-powered energy they can find. The balance sheet is simple — the value of earned coins must be greater than the cost to mine those coins. The more efficient the mining, the higher the profits. So what is the future of Bitcoin mining? ‼️Bitcoin miners will eventually lose their BTC mining rewards, instead relying solely on transaction fees. When this time comes, miners will have to focus more on operational efficiency, rather than capital expenditure, which is why we are seeing so many acquisitions today. 🚀Those who are able to capture the strongest foothold have a chance to stay profitable in the longer term. 💡🔥Bitcoin miners are the most #innovative energy #infrastructure companies today, exploring novel ways to efficiently capture and utilise energy to turn it into financial assets.

Investment portfolios around the world saw major gains following the election, and Bitcoin hit $88,000, a new record. The promise of less regulation, more acquisitions, and more IPOs has brought renewed excitement to the venture capital market. Managers around the world predict increased liquidity as part of the Venture Trends survey. - / / / Limited Partners flocking to Emerging Managers Emerging managers from around the world have been seeing a surge in interest from limited partners, even before the US election. This followed a traditionally slow period in late August and September. The most active segment of LPs are emerging limited partners, who are high net worth individuals, #familyOffices, and institutions that have just started investing in venture within the last couple of years. The Decile Hub system is tracking over 150,000 of these LPs, growing by as many as 1,000 new emerging LPs being added per week.

Florida's CFO Requests State Pension Fund to Invest in Bitcoin Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, Jimmy Patronis, is advocating for the state’s retirement fund to explore investment into Bitcoin. Patronis has requested the Florida State Board of Administration (SBA), which oversees state retirement assets, to evaluate the possibility of adding Bitcoin to its portfolio as a way to diversify holdings and offer protection against volatility in traditional markets. He suggests that Bitcoin, often called "digital gold," could add value to the state's investments by providing a potential safeguard. In a letter to SBA Executive Director Chris Spencer dated October 29, Patronis asked for a feasibility study assessing the risks, benefits, and practicality of including digital assets in the state's pension funds. He encouraged the SBA to complete this review before the upcoming legislative session on March 4, 2025. Currently, the SBA manages more than 30 funds, including the Florida Retirement System Trust Fund, which held about $205 billion in assets as of September 30. Patronis also proposed launching a "Digital Currency Investment Pilot Program" under the Florida Growth Fund, which is permitted to invest up to 1.5% of the retirement fund’s assets. In the past year, this fund allocated roughly $998 million toward high-growth investments. Highlighting the importance of securing strong returns for Floridian retirees—such as teachers, firefighters, and police officers—Patronis pointed out that investing in cryptocurrency could support this goal. He also linked this initiative to Governor Ron DeSantis’s stance against central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), noting that crypto operates independently from central banking controls. If Florida moves forward with crypto investments, it would join other states like Wisconsin and Michigan.
