Just had an awesome call catching up with Jason Cohen with Mission Control NOC and HelpDesk Services. What I appreciate about Jason is he is a genuine guy in the MSP vendor space. Unfortunately, vendor sales and the MSP space doesn't always make that easy. The reason I call this out is not just to make sure he starts showing up in my feed again, but I want to call out vendors that are genuine. I also met with Janelle Cates at Phin Security to chat about their product and give feedback. While it's no surprise that the talent Connor Swalm and team hire are genuine, it's important for us to call out when we see it. Being genuine in a B2B vendor space can be hard. Whether it is quotas or wanting to capture market share, finding people who just are themselves to work with is important if you want any hope of getting your feedback actually actioned. This is why larger channel vendors get accused of not caring about their partners. This isn't all that dissimilar to a SMB or SME looking for MSP services. How can they know, like, or trust you if you are not yourself. If they can't do that, why would they buy from you? Not less important is also your stated values as a company. Do you and your employees know/hold each other accountable on them? Having this will also tell you the type of clients/vendors you want to work with.

Sometimes, I have to give clients tough feedback and tell them things they don't want to hear. ❌ You can't use a consumer-grade laptop. ❌ You can't be a global admin of your O365. ❌ You can't use Veeam as a backup solution. 🔒 I need you to use a password manager. 📧 Lenny, in accounting, needs to take his security training seriously. He failed the last three phishing attempts. 👩‍🔧 Jennifer is applying to jobs using her work laptop during business hours. 🕵‍♂️ Ben, since going remote is frequently inactive for 15- 25 minutes at a time, it makes sense that your billable hours are down for him.
