Volunteer Experience

  • Mentor

Arthur W. Buerk Center for Entrepreneurship

    - Present 6 years 10 months

    Education

I'm an active volunteer with a passion for supporting and advising budding entrepreneurs as they launch and grow their companies. This includes being a mentor in the 6-month Jones +Foster Accelerator, a co-instructor or panelist in entrepreneurial skills seminars and a judge in business plan competitions. The Buerk Center is a phenomenal resource for UW students and I'm honored to help support their mission.

    Education

I coordinated the efforts of 90+ graduate students for monthly outreach events that impacted > 1,000 K-12 students in the Seattle Area. I'm most proud of my work to build new partnerships with STEM under-represented minority advocacy groups (e.g., MESA) and to establish new systems to maintain high community involvement beyond my tenure as director. I continued to serve as an outreach volunteer at K-12 events until my graduation in June 2014.
