Both are fantastic ways to position yourself👇🤩 Branding yourself as an expert in your industry is often taught as one of the most important ways to establish your reputation, and something that this weeks podcast guest, Jenna Farmer did by accident while sharing her personal experience with Crohn’s disease online. But what’s the difference between being an expert vs a thought leader… a transition I seem to have made somewhat by accident myself over the last few years: 🔍 Expert: you’ve dived deep into your niche, mastered your field, and can provide concrete solutions. Being an expert builds trust, showcasing your skills and knowledge. It’s about precision and reliability. 🌟 Thought Leader: you’re looking beyond the horizon, inspiring new ideas, and shaping industry trends. Thought leaders are visionaries who challenge the status quo and spark innovation. It’s about influence and inspiration. Both roles elevate your brand, but in different ways. Expertise earns respect and credibility, while thought leadership creates a magnetic pull, attracting followers eager to see what you do next. In this latest episode of my podcast ‘Making Money Online’ we talk about: - The key differences between an expert and a thought leader and how to differentiate yourself. - How to leverage PR as you transition from expert to thought leader, and how to avoid some of the common pitfalls when doing so. - The importance of sharing your original thoughts and your values in order to build a strong relationship with your audience. Plus you can hear more of Jenna Farmer’s story too, including how her journey as a health influencer began, as well as how this evolved… Click here to listen 🤩👇 https://lnkd.in/eBvCMysk Which do you think you are and why? 🥰👇 #podcast #makingmoneyonline #lisajohnson #thoughtleader #expert #positioning #brand #business #strategy #pr

DIRECTION and SPEED are the two most important things in creating, scaling and exiting startup. Speed means destruction without direction. When in doubt, always spend more time and resources on getting clear Direction (Strategy and Operating plan of that strategy) before injecting cash into speed. Set up the GPS before you drive. And when you do inject resources into Speed, go all out. 🎨 **Rest Is a Cornerstone of Creativity** 🎨 As artists, creatives, and visionary entrepreneurs, we pour passion into everything we do. But amidst the whirlwind of projects and deadlines, we often neglect one vital component: **rest**. Sound familiar? We push ourselves relentlessly, chasing perfection. But the truth is, **rest isn’t a luxury**—it’s essential for our creativity and mental well-being. 🧘♂️💡 Rest is about nurturing creative energy. When you pause, you create space for inspiration to flow. It's in these quiet moments that breakthroughs happen. 🌱 **Tip**: Schedule regular breaks. Even a short walk or moment of mindfulness can recharge you. Burnout lurks when we push too hard. Balancing work and rest isn’t just about productivity; it’s about safeguarding your passion. **Pace yourself for the marathon**, not the sprint. 🏃♀️ **Tip**: Embrace boredom—your mind uses that space to spark new ideas. Prioritizing rest empowers you to sustain creativity and success. Let’s redefine productivity and embrace rest as part of our process. ✨ **How do you make rest a priority in your creative or entrepreneurial journey?** Share in the comments! 💬

Professional Development Coaching is a tried and trusted way to close the gap between disengagement and fully engaged team members. If you or your organization are struggling with employee retention and engagement, I urge you to seek out a Professional Development Coach today. But don't just take my word for it. Read this great article from Gallup Workplace, which includes the following quote: "Wellbeing isn’t just an employee expectation; it’s foundational to sustainable employee performance. When employees strongly agree their organization cares about their overall wellbeing, they are: 💡 4.4 times as likely to be engaged at work 💡 7 times as likely to strongly agree they would recommend their organization as a great place to work 💡 73% less likely to feel burned out at work very often or always 💡 53% less likely to be watching for or actively seeking a new job 💡 50% more likely to be thriving in life Ultimately, a workplace culture that truly prioritizes employee wellbeing makes people feel cared about and tangibly improves their lives. In these organizations, wellbeing becomes a priority people talk about, encourage and do together regularly -- from leaders and managers all the way to the frontline." Ready to get started? Reach out if I can help! #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerCoaching #ExecutiveCoaching #LeadershipCoaching #PersonalGrowth #LeadershipDevelopment #GrowthMindset #ServantLeadership #LeadershipSkills #SuccessMindset https://lnkd.in/gWQ4ngXP

| Harnessing Neuroplasticity: Innovative Solutions for Chronic Pain and Stress | For over two decades, I've navigated the challenges of a double life - balancing a successful career in software design/recruiting with running a thriving Pilates studio. But beneath the surface, perfectionism, anxiety, and unresolved traumas led to burnouts and chronic migraines, impacting every aspect of my life. This breakthrough led me to a new calling. ✨ Now, as a Neuro-Somatic Practitioner, I create lasting change in the brain and nervous system for my clients using science-based neuro-somatic methods and applied neurology. We harness neuroplasticity to rewire neural pathways, leading to increased regulation, improved performance, sustainable behavior change and trauma repatterning. In simpler terms, it's all about brain retraining and regulating your nervous system to transform behaviors, boost productivity, and live a more fulfilling life. ✨ If you're battling: • Chronic Pain • Migraines • Burnout • Anxiety • Inflammation • Feeling stuck I understand your frustration - I have been there. Dear Fabulous Female Founders, In my former industry (planning, design, and engineering), all but two firms were led by men. Toward the end of my time leading my firms, I joined a CEO breakfast club, where I was one of three women out of about 50 from a wide range of industries. Through the breakfast club, an executive coach invited me to join a mastermind group of seven men plus me. Let me tell you: that experience was one of the highlights of my business journey. At that time, I felt the weight of responsibility for our 200+ employees, of expectations from my business partners, and of steering the ship out of turbulent waters after a crazy journey launching, growing, and selling our bike share company. I’d gone on a “listening tour” and determined that we had some tough times ahead involving belt tightening, overhaul of systems, and release of certain underperforming people and offices. Whereas my friends, family, and husband seemed to jump to unproductive (but well-meaning) problem solving, because they couldn’t possibly understand the complexities and nuances of what I was trying to explain, my CEO group listened, asked great questions, and sympathized. They helped me see that our problems (and the companion solutions) weren’t particularly unique and that making tough choices and executing corrective strategies were just part of the job of a CEO. They also helped me see that I knew my business stuff, that I was leading with strength and compassion, and that I had knowledge and advice to contribute to them as well. They reinforced for me that wealth, power, and/or an Ivy League education does not mean smarter or better, and I walked out of each meeting feeling confident, energized, and way less lonely. This was one of many ways I learned the wisdom I share each week. I invite you to join my email list (click below or DM me) for a 5-10 minute article or audio in response to a question from someone like you. I also invite you to send me questions. What keeps you up at night? What are you struggling with? Can I offer you a story, observation, or idea that might help give you perspective, move you forward, or reframe an issue? I’d love to hear from you. https://lnkd.in/gZiCT-vA

Amazon’s HQ staff is mandated to return to a five-day in-person work week. 'We want to operate like the world’s largest startup,' Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said. 'That means having a passion for constantly inventing for customers, strong urgency (for most big opportunities, it’s a race!), high ownership, fast decision-making, scrappiness and frugality, deeply-connected collaboration (you need to be joined at the hip with your teammates when inventing and solving hard problems), and a shared commitment to each other.' -Jassy I hope Mr. Jassy passed my free Collaboration Readiness Assessment. You can see if your organization is ready to collaborate here: https://lnkd.in/eN76VSZ7 Putting people in a room and arming them all with dry-erase makers is no guarantee of effective collaboration. Collaboration is more than simply teamwork or working together. Collaboration is a problem-solving method to co-create innovative solutions. Effective leadership is collaborative. I help businesspeople with 20-500 employees master collaboration and solve people-induced performance problems. I wonder if Mr. Jassy will invest in teaching his employees how to navigate the 7Cs of effective collaboration? In a recent TrustWorthy Podcast, Erin Duffy☘️ Founder of InspirationSqrd, shared a powerful reminder about teamwork: the key to building trust within a team is ensuring that *everyone* has a voice. Whether in a small group or a cross-functional team meeting, when people are allowed to speak and be heard at the same level, something amazing happens: trust begins to form! We’ve all been in meetings where someone’s voice was shut down, only for their idea to resurface later as the solution everyone agrees on. It’s disheartening—and it damages trust. But when everyone feels respected and heard from the start, it builds mutual respect and collaboration. 🤝 Creating space at the start for everyone to introduce themselves, share what brings them joy, or find common ground before the “real work” begins. That simple act of connection builds rapport and, more importantly, trust. 🔍 Research supports this: studies in organizational behavior show that teams with high levels of trust and psychological safety are more creative, productive, and aligned (Harvard Business Review). 🔑 Action Item: At your next team meeting, make a point to ensure everyone has a voice. Start by letting people introduce themselves and share something meaningful. This small step can foster trust and create a more synergistic team dynamic. Let’s share with each other what is working below! Discover the secrets to effective teamwork!
