“When I first met Gordon, he was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mathsoft, a fast-growing start up in the eighties. I was selling advertising for high tech magazines, and Gordon represented a choice account with budget for full page, four color advertising. Gordon was a tough sell initially, and he drove a hard bargain - but he listened, he was clearly strategic in the selection process, and he was funny enough that his negotiating didn't leave me hurting too badly. He ultimately became a friend as well as a solid client, and I always appreciated his quick-witted insight on marketing and our industry. I know he drove Mathsoft hard and achieved the kind of success that made their investors and management team happy. Fast forward, YEARS later (like 20 years later) Gordon and I found each other again and worked together on a digital start up project. I was reminded that he possesses these formidable qualities: 1.) Gordon is very convincing. When he believes in something, he can make others believe in the same thing (the word "evangelist" comes to mind, 2.) Gordon is charming - he has a way of incorporating his work passions with personal stories that make every conversation interesting and enjoyable, 3). Gordon is a pro in sales and marketing - he knows how to create a position and he is a closer like you've never seen. I believe Gordon has the entrepreneurial gene, and can make a strategic as well as a material commercial contribution to any sized organization, big or small. Be prepared, he will make his presence felt!”
