I just finished reading Business of Fashion's "Fashion Executives on Finding Brand Success on TikTok," and it helped me put into perspective how much power TikTok holds in the PR industry. The article dives into how brands are showing up on TikTok whether they choose to or not, with content creators and communities driving conversations that shape brand image. It highlights how important it is for brands to embrace this, actively engage with their audience, and adapt to the platform's fast-paced nature. One big takeaway for me was that brands no longer control the narrative—content creators and communities do. Because of this, jumping into the comments is crucial, with 76% of TikTok users feeling more connected when brands actively engage. I'm excited to share major Base Beauty Creative Agency™ Jodi Katz news! Ad Age and Base Beauty Creative Agency™ just launched a first-of-its-kind research report titled “The Empathy Effect: Unlocking explosive growth in beauty, wellness, and personal care industries.” As part of this six-month-long research project, Ad Age deployed a custom survey with Signet Research Inc. to C-suite leaders at beauty, wellness, and personal care companies. The role of content extends far beyond just selling a product. Take brands like Starbucks, Red Bull, and my personal favorite, Immi Ramen—a ramen brand with a community of over 307K across Instagram and TikTok. These brands have successfully built strong relationships with their customers. I particularly admire how Immi Ramen brings ramen to the streets and ties it to their promise: "Ramen that makes you feel good.” using inspiring video content 👇🏾. The days of bombarding consumers with product images and designs are long gone.
