Why is GetYourGuide stopping with digital product? GYG's product page, booking funnel and confirmation email are not built to support digital products. To give one example, on the confirmation email there is a massive banner to download the GYG app (a key objective for them) causing costumers to think they can access the product from THAT app and not downloading the supplier product. This prompts high % of client to contact Costumer Care complaining. NPS score drops, cost per booking increases and they end up loosing money on these products. It’s important to note that they will keep selling combos and packages with digital products so only pure digital is excluded from the platform which leaves lots of opportunities for collaborations between tour operators and digital product creators. The good news? End of last year we’ve launched www.cityfans.com. A digital-first platform built entirely for self guided, city-games and innovative city exploration products. Following a 6 months pilot phase in Amsterdam (with solid results) we are now expending to 10 cities by August and will be in 50 cities worldwide by 2025. As we navigate the delusional path of Modern Airline retailing, it is good to know Sabre understands how much of it does not work and, through collaboration, plans a realistic road map for 2025. Now, if only IATA and the Airlines could face the reality that it would take years to get to full service and even longer to reach the elusive promised land of One Order. Many top behaviors that business travelers naturally practice when flying also happen to help reduce emissions and waste, benefiting the environment in the process! For instance, BCD Travel's most recent survey finds that 66% of travelers we asked fly direct and around three out of 10 visit multiple destinations in one trip, use public transportation to or from the airport, and refill their own water bottle. However, two thirds of travelers admit they never or rarely consider environmental factors if sustainable choices come at a higher cost. This shows that while some traveler behaviors are, by default, more environmentally sound, sustainability is not necessarily a prerogative - despite more travel buyers making policy sustainability a top priority. Over 200 travel buyers responded to our most recent survey on evolving priorities for corporate travel policies. Here are some key findings: - Traveler satisfaction has shifted from a top priority in past years to fourth place in 2024. - Sustainability remains a developing area, with less than half of the companies including it in their policies. - Diversity, equity and inclusion and bleisure travel are still not widely addressed. Respondents also called out challenges...and solutions: - The biggest challenge is educating travelers about policy updates. - Effective communication through platforms like TripSource ensures that travelers stay informed and safe. What’s next? - Nearly two-thirds of travel buyers expect sustainability and safety to drive future policy changes. - Companies should be aware that business travel – often exhausting and stressful – can affect travelers’ wellbeing. Adapting the travel policy with travelers’ needs in mind can have a positive impact on employee retention.
