One team member feels excluded by the group. How do you ensure everyone feels included and valued?
I’d start by having a private, empathetic conversation with the team member to understand their perspective and ensure they feel heard. Then, I’d assess team dynamics to uncover barriers to inclusivity and facilitate an open discussion about fostering collaboration and respect. To empower the individual, I’d involve them in tasks that highlight their strengths and create team-building opportunities while providing resources like unconscious bias training to raise awareness. Leading by example, I’d demonstrate inclusivity, seek diverse perspectives, and regularly follow up to monitor progress, ensuring everyone feels valued and supported.

You're struggling with conflict resolution in your team. How can you improve your skills effectively?
As a seasoned CEO, I’ve learned that conflict is inevitable—but how you handle it defines your leadership. Listen actively to ensure everyone feels heard, and always stay calm, even in tense situations. Focus on solving the problem, not blaming the person, and don’t shy away from addressing issues head-on. Avoidance only breeds resentment. Most importantly, reflect on your own role. Sometimes, as leaders, we need to own our part. Conflict resolution isn’t about avoiding disagreements; it’s about turning them into opportunities for growth and trust. Teams that handle conflict well are the ones that truly succeed.

Your client is overwhelmed with work-life balance. How can you help them find harmony?
In my experience, work-life balance is a challenge, but after 31 years as a entrepreneur and as a CEO, I’ve learned it’s less about splitting time evenly and more about finding a flow that works for you. The first step is to identify your top priorities, both personally and professionally and focus on what truly matters. From there, we should work on setting clear boundaries to protect your time, learning to say “no” when necessary. It’s also important to redefine what success looks like for you now, so it aligns with your current goals and values. Streamline your workload by identifying tasks you can delegate or simplify, creating more space for what energizes you, whether that’s time with family, exercise, or simply unplugging.

Your team members resist feedback during coaching. How can you break through their resistance?
In my experience, when team members resist feedback during coaching, it’s not just frustrating, it’s a sign that something deeper is going on. As a CEO, I’ve learned that resistance often stems from a few core issues: trust, delivery, and relevance.Breaking through resistance to feedback isn’t an overnight process it takes consistency, empathy, and a little bit of humility. When team members feel supported, understood, and included in the process, their defensiveness fades. And when you approach feedback as a conversation rather than a directive, you pave the way for growth that benefits not just the individual, but the entire team.
